I am so upset. I left to make sure my son and our animals were safe from the hurricane. We stayed at my parents and I made sure all the animals were okay by putting regular flea medication on them. Salem, my 6 year old cat, seemed fine but threw up but I thought it was due to eating new food. I didn't know until later but she had thrown up a few days later too. We all thought it was due to eating new food or getting in to something cause she was acting fine other than that. Two days later, I found her unable to walk so I rushed her to the ER vet and they tried interventions to help her but couldn't do anything because she was too sick. I had to put her down because her body wasn't responding. I am so upset. I put it on correctly and she had never had any issues before with flea meds or anything new but after running through everything in my head the medication was the only thing likely to have deteroriated her health to that point. She was a healthy 6 year old cat. She didn't deserve this and just wanted to cuddle with anyone anytime.

Some may not understand the bond you have with an animal but my animals are my fur babies and I feel like a part of my heart is missing. I have an overwhelming sense of guilt and depression because I love her so much and feel awful about the situation and I don't know what to do other than cry.

PLEASE DO NOT use Advantage II for large cats (9+ lbs) and double check with vet since this is an over the counter flea meds. Look for other holistic alternatives.

I am so sorry my sweet girl and I love you very much. Rest in Peace Salem 9/15/18.

Hi. I am so sorry to hear of your poor cat's passing in such unfortunate circumstances. There is no easy way to get over our beloved pet's deaths, no matter what the circumstances, and I just wish that things won't be too rough as you go through the difficult grieving process. I am 9 months into the process myself and it is still far from over. To know that so many people are struggling with the same scenario is a comfort of sorts, but it doesn't alleviate the sadness in each of our hearts that we must work through.

I just stumbled upon this. My situation with Fen is so different but my heart breaks for you. You did nothing wrong. Please know that. Please.
I know how you must miss Salem. I font understand all things by any means but I know when things like this happen and there’s no answer or reason. I pray for peace in your heart. Know Salem sees you and smiles at you.
Love
