Aw, Lisa - I didn't know that you knew!  Thank you very, very much for the very pretty "Happy Birthday"  but more importantly for remembering.  Yes, I had a lovely day. Thank you so much again.  (I'm just having trouble thinking of myself as a Senior Citizen!)

Greetings for your birthday, Sharon, and new found 'seniority', yes it's a strange feeling.  Don't know if you get free bus passes there?!   We also get free prescriptions in UK .. don't think you do?   What perks are there, where you are?

Hugs x

Colleen, dearheart, your post hadn't appeared when I wrote my 'thank you' to Lisa - don't want you to think I'm ignoring you. :)  Thank you so very much for the lovely, "fluffy" elephants, which are *so* appropriate! LOL  I had a lovely lunch with some of my in-laws, so it was a nice day.  I also had lots of mail and email cards, making me almost "Queen for a Day"!  (I wonder how many of you remember that show???)

Thanks so much, Mags!  I don't have a bus, living out in the country, but it wouldn't be free anway.  Free prescriptions???  What a pipe dream over here!  In fact, my insurance just changed so that I'm now paying *more* for my prescriptions, not less. :(  On Thursdays, I can get a 10% discount at some of the stands at the Amish market, and some restaurants have a "senior" menu, offering smaller portions for less money.  One man told me that it's not worth getting older; I have to agree.  But I did have a nice birthday - thank you for adding to it!!

Thank you so much, Lynda!  I enjoy belated birthday cards - it stretches birthday out nicely!  And the gifs are nice, but not necessary - it's the sentiment that matters, and I so appreciate yours!

LOL Ruth!  We're giving away our ages; I'm sure there are youngsters here who would say, "Huh?  Queen for a Day???"  :)   Anyway, I'm glad I gave you some happy memories!

Sharon ~ I think you should move to Alaska.  Do you know what the State of Alaska gives you when you turn "a certain age"?   They give you a free hunting, fishing and trapping license for the rest of your life.  :(

And they don't mean trapping in the "rescue an animal" sense, either! :(

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MY FRIEND!!! So sorry I missed it - senior citizen eh?  My hubby just turned 50 in December and got an invite from AARP.  I got to join for free with his membership.  I'm not too far behind him - lol.  Hope it was a good one.  Take care.

Your friend,

Lisa, I should move to Alaska just because. . . y'all know how to have winter, with nice long, dark evenings when I could cocoon.  . .   The licenses - well, I could always use the fishing one! :)

Oh, Barb - just 50????  Young whippersnapper! LOL  Actually, I have trouble thinking of myself as a Senior Citizen.  My dad, who'll be 90 in a couple of weeks, keeps telling me: "I'll tell you what my father told me - 'Don't get old'!"  To which I reply, "Dad, it's too late!"  Anyway, thank you so very much for the happy wishes.  I like early & late ones  - stretches my birthday out (kinda like my body LOL)

Hey Sharon,
With all your belated birthday wishes arriving, mine included, (sorry) you might be able to stretch out your celebrating til the next one rolls round!
I read that you had a very happy day and 'queen for a day' status, well, that's just perfect.
I'm with you and honestly keep forgetting to see if there are any discounts 'cause of my senior status. I guess unfortunately in this case, I don't look my age and think I'd have the 'let's see your id lady' which would be embarassing. I used to be asked years ago when I was older than 21, but now seems ludricious. So, I keep forgetting to see if there is a discount! I will let you know how it goes.
Anyway, my very best wishes to you for today and all the days til it's birthday time again!

Thanks, Wendy!  See, a whole week & I'm still getting wishes - it's great!!

I do remember to ask for the Senior discount at the Amish market - but no one's questioned it yet! :(  So I guess I look Senior. :((

How's your dad?  I just got home from taking mine grocery shopping - it's our weekly "date" - lunch & shopping.  He'll be 90 in two weeks - and does really well for his age.

Thanks again, Wendy, for giving me a Happy Birthday Week!!

Wow, I didn't expect all this!

Thank you, halo, for remembering, which is the best gift of all. I had lunch with my late husband's sister and her husband; not only was the company excellent - so were the fried oysters!

Connie, thank you so much for the wishes!  I did indeed have a happy day, and will have a happy evening tomorrow when my son, his wife, and my grandson take me out for dinner. :)

Thank you, too, Joan - I've been to Alberta and simply love the Rockies!  There are no words to tell you how I  yearn to go back there. Cold, to me, is much better than hot (and "hot" to me is 70F degrees).  Fascinated by the black, sticky soil; awed by the mountains.  Gotta stop now - I'm gonna cry at any moment!

Ah, Cindy, Toby, and Abby, thank you so very much for your good wishes!  I hope your holiday was great.

Thank you all for adding to the happiness of my special day; you're all gems, for sure.

Thank you, Mags~! Yes, they do keep coming round, don't they?  My dad keeps telling me, "Don't get old!"   My answer is, "Dad, it's too late!" LOL

Happy belated birthday Sharon.

Boy we missed a big one the other day didn't we? A little colder and we would have had almost two foot of snow.

Thank you, Tim!
And I'd have been happier! :)  Puxatawney Phil says 6 more weeks of winter, but my son and I ask: Where are the *first* 6 weeks?????
Anyway, I was glad I live on a hill!!
