Hey Patti,

Great idea...

Lycos.com only had one nickname....Lycocious, like "precocious"....

Here are the nicknames for my other furbabies:

Glory: Glory Glory Halleluiah
Peyton: Peytonian
Scarlett: Scarletti O'Hara
Ashes: Ashes Bashes
Arwen: Arweni Beanie

Rosalynn doesn't have a nickname yet since I'm trying to make sure that she learns her full name first but I'm leaning towards "Rozi Bear" :)

Dear Friend Colleen...

I love YOUR name for my baby... little Shredding Sheltie Angel Girl.  Yes I loved calling her Doll face and she DID prance like a little pony!!!  :-)

Carlucci I just came up with one time.  Being silly!!!   She LOVED to play frisbee and it just came to me that Carlucci was her "alter ego" - the frisbee queen!!!  lol    So we'd call her that when we took her out to play frisbee.  She was so cute.  We'd hand her the frisbee and say YOU CARRY IT.  She would... for a few minutes... then she'd get bored and drop it, looking back as if to say OK MAMA YOU CARRY NOW, ME DON'T WANNA!!!  Thanks for the happy memory that came back to me from describing her Carlucci personality!!

Yes I loved this thread and had to restart it.  I'm so happy to read yours!!

Tanzey was my Pumpkin too!!   But not spelled the same as your Punkin.  I love Punkin-Eater!!   It made tears come to my eyes but a smile too, picturing you snuggling him, nuzzling and whispering "Mummy loves a Punkin-Eater"... what a precious, cherished memory.

I like Elmo-Skelmo the best!!   Bunny boys, that is so cute!!

As for Chloe...  Bean Bottom wins my vote!!!   Too cute!!

I'm so glad it put a smile on your face, Colleen, as it did mine too!!

Love, Patti

Vicki !!

So happy to "see" you here!!

Lycos only NEEDED one nickname when it was such a GOOD ONE!!

I love the name Glory, so pretty... and hers was perfect.

Peytonian, would never have thought of that!!

Of course Scarletti O'Hara...  couldn't have been more appropriate!!

And Ashes Bashes and Arweni Beanie sound like me, I love to rhyme with nicknames!!

Ohhhh Rozi Bear...  I love that as of course our girl was Tanny Bear and Bear and TBear.  I waited awhile to nickname the Bear, too, just as you said so she would know her "real name".  Ken used to kid me that Tanzey wouldn't remember her name WAS Tanzey... but she did even though we didn't use it often!!

Hugs,

Patti

I've just noticed myself calling Rosalynn her first nickname:

Rosaleeni

And now because of a habit she has in the morning to run as quickly as she can to jump on the bed and cuddle with me (she puts her head right next to my neck & face), her latest nickname is:

Cuddle Bug

Isn't it amazing how quickly we give our little furbabies nicknames?

Chance = Sir Chancealot

Sasha=Sasha Washa

Sugar=Noogers

Sam=Sammy Whammy

Spook=Sshmuck-Spookster

my best friend-Champee-is male maltese-he's almost 14yrs (old?-well, that depends on the day, he considers himself a handsome young fella) his name is actually Champ E N (aka) champion, he's named that 'cause i was told others didn't want him, he didn't fit their ideal of a 'perfect' Maltese, he's a bit larger, alot LOUDER, in fact when he actually found me he was 2mos old, still itty bitty, but LOUDLY telling me, "I've been waitin for you, hurry, hurry let's go home and play! bark, bark!"  He's known as Champee, sleepy peepers (eyes), Champ, sweetie, mommys baby boy. just remembered... aka/'billygoat'-he'll eat almost anything & he's a 'climber'-i do think he could climb up a mountain with those little feet!  Little fella keeps me busy trying to find 'childproof' locks for cabinets and such-it's not easy 'Champee-proofing' the home for his safety-but it is so worth it!

Im back...I'd forgotten his nicknames his drs gave him...like i said he's LOUD...until this past week EVERYTIME we go to dr & i have someone else with me, they take Champee outisde to wait till I talk to drs & check out...his drs have a 'glass' door & champee always turns around & BARKS! trying to tunnel thru, as if he's saying "Mommy look...this way...I'll save you!...just let me dig thru the door...hurrry Mommy! BARK!   so he's named BIG MOUTH  & TROUBLE! little fella can make lots of noise!!!

 my daughters yorkie/silkie is named Toto aka 'Toto Chaos'-a name given to him by his Moms longtime friend & new husband! , Totottpot-(he's traveled quite a bit with his Mom, sometimes he's visited grandmommy, aunts, uncles, friends he prefers diapers and wears them proudly).  aka as TOTY! - for whatever reason when many different friends greet him it's one of the universal reactions...always said with smiles & excitement.

Hi Colleen,

My dearly beloved Snuggy - I would stand out on the deck and call him in (he was tough to get in - the avid hunter that he was).  My nicknames were "Nuggy" - "Nuggs" .  Oh, what I wouldn't give to have one more day with him, one more hour with him, one more minute with him.  But it's not to be until we meet at the Bridge.

Christine

Always loved, forever missed.

My sweet angel baby's official name was Denali Calypso-I wanted to name her calypso just because I knew that my husband wouldnt be able to spell it and nickname her Cali:) but Denali won out. My husband called her poo poo because her eyes were brown when she was little and became golden later on. I called her Nali and De-Nal-I-A when she was being a brat:)

What a fun thing to remember-I actually smiled typing this-which is good since I have been crying for the last hour. Thank you.

Kayla was: Kay Bean, Beaner, Beanie Girl, Kay Kay, Furfie (which was an abbreviated version of Kaylistic Furbacity, whatever that meant!), Fur Girl, Kay Beast...

My sweet polydactyl tuxedo tabby went to the Rainbow Bridge when he was 22 years old, December 23, 2004. We had originally named him Big Foot, but it was shortened to Footie by the grandkids.

He was also known as "The Foot" and "Footie McClenahan and don't you forget it!" and of course, "Mama's Boy".

A very special kitty, he loved kids, he looked like he wore too much eyeliner, and he had a lower lip, only kitty I ever saw with a lower lip.  In photos, it looked like he had his tongue sticking out.

Sweet memories....

Great idea!  I loved reading all the nicknames and actually smiled for the first time in over a week.

I sometimes called my precious Whiskers "Pussycat", "My Good Girl" or "Mommy's Baby".  Her daddy sometimes called her "Princess", "Pumpkin" or "Little Girl".  Her name really should have been "Princess" because that was what she was and how she was treated.  LOL  If anyone is wondering why my beautiful female cat was named Whiskers, that name was given to her by my ex's daughter who was only about 8 years old at the time.  LOL

Felix had lots of nicknames

Fee

fee fee bloom

gorgeous boy

beautiful baby

sausage

phoebe boy

mammy's little treasure

beautiful boy

he answered to all of them, especially gorgeous boy. It was me calling him gorgeous boy that coaxed him out of the cage at the vets after he had been castrated. He got himself into the far corner where the nurse could not reach him and there was no way he was coming out for her. One little, 'where's mammy's gorgeous boy' and he flew to me.

I also took cute pictures of all my cats with the angel wings I had for a fancy dress competition and called him my angel-puss. Little did I know that a few months later he would be a real angel.

My little Putter who went to the bridge 2/9/07 went most of his life with only 2 nicknames until his last year then he gained a couple more.

Little Putt-Putt  (3 months old)

Poo-tair-eous  (3 years old)

"The Professor" or in honor of a little old man I really like and recently met who also had kidney failure and frequently was balanced challenged as Putter was towards the end "My Little Arno" (11 1/2)

I loved reading all the names and was at the amount of nicknames some of you had!

Millie was also known as:

Millie Bones

Pretty Bones

My Pretty Princess

Princess

Mummys Princess

Bones

Delicate Bones

She looked and acted like a princess. She had a wonderful selection of collars with sparkles and sequins. She loved all the attention she got when she wore them.

The nicknames with bones in them are self explanitorty. She was so fragile and bony, although a bit on the heavy side for a greyhound. When she stood in a certain light, you could see through parts of her skinny legs.

I called her Millie cos at the time we got her we had Milo who sadly passed away a few months later, but the names went together. When I got her she had just been retired from racing and was called Darlawn Mousey, they called her Mouse but she didn't really know it cos she'd been passed on from one owner to the next.
