3 months boy. You were my guardian angel, my best friend, often my only friend. You were my rock. You were my Akita.
It was about this time that Sunday night..a day I'll never forget. I had no idea I'd lose you that day. Sunday's are so hard...i still look out in the back yard where I saw you collapse. I tried my best little man, it was raining and the truck got stuck but I got you to the vet as fast as I could. I guess you were ready, it was time for you to move on.
You saved my life, I know that's why you came for me. You were beautiful, strong, loyal...you were everything an Akita should be. I'm so lucky to have had you..i try to be grateful. We had so many adventures. I wish we could have more.
It's hard without you Katsu..empty, dark. I don't know what to do in the morning without our walks and truck rides. I'm trying to soldier on boy, I know that's what you want. I'm trying but it's a struggle. I know you visited me in my dreams a few weeks ago. You looked great and we had a nice little walk in that field..you sat down on top of my foot like always. I'll see you again one day little man. Our souls have more to do right now..but I'll see you again. 3 months..i miss you so much Katsu. Your my boy and love you.

It's so very hard to remember each day, each month and then each year that passes with out them. As long as we hold them in our hearts they are never gone or forgotten. Keep posting your mile stones as I do. I have a post "Still grieving, still loving you" that I write every so often. Some read my posts, some don't but it gives me peace to know that those words will live on forever, even after I'm gone. We need to honor or love that we shared in any way that gives us peace. I know from reading all your posts how very much Katsu meant to you and you to him.
Find strength in knowing you were the best and Katsu knows that.
Love and doggie hugs

Katsu's Dad,

Katsu knew how much his Dad loved him. Your dedication to him shows.  I'm glad to read you were able to see him in your dream.  He will come back to visit you again.  The loss of our companions hurts so much.  Time seems to stand still, but then it goes by so fast.  It feels like that for me.  I feel stuck most of the time, but the world keeps moving and I have to keep up, though it's difficult.

I hope your dreams of Katsu continue and you get other signs and messages.  These are new memories you and Katsu will share.  New footprints.  New adventures.

I hope you are well and healthy, Katsu's Dad.  I've heard a wonderful song that says so much. It's by Westlife and called "I'll See You Again."  Worth listening to, but have some tissues handy.  I sing it (not exactly on-key) to my little one.  I've already memorized the words.   Katsu is walking beside you.  You will see him again.   ~ Parker's Mom
