It’s hard. It’s so hard forgiving yourself. I think of Penny every day, go to where she’s buried and say “hi pretty girl” every time I’m outside.

I was going through older videos of my son tonight and Penny was in a lot of them.. next thing you know, here I am sitting on my bed with tears rolling as fast as they can. I feel guilty every time I think of her, see her in a picture, anytime I’m playing outside with our other dog.. the list goes on.

It’s so hard saying goodbye to a physically healthy pet. Our entire lives revolved around making sure Penny was content.. no loud noises, no fast movements, no visitors and absolutely no strange animals around. The damage she did to our smaller dog over the last 5 years was horrific. Staples, stitches, medications and the last injury resulted in our smaller dog,Paisley, having multiple teeth removed and her jaw reattached. Why did this happen? I came home from work, Paisley started barking and Penny ripped into her.

I know I made the right decision. I know she had problems I couldn’t fix. My heart still aches and I miss her every single day.

I am so sorry for your pain. I had a similar experience many years ago and understand your pain. Our Tessa was a wonderful dog who loved everyone she met but that changed in an instant. I still miss her.

I put my healthy dog down today for aggression and I am not okay it's a different kind of pain to take your baby in who is otherwise healthy. I haven't stopped crying and I feel broken. I'm sorry you are going through this.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Must be terrible for you.  It's normal to feel what you are feeling.  I just registered due to a recent pet loss hoping to not only to talk about it but to also heal through giving kind words to others.
