I've been reading a lot of books dealing with pet loss bereavement and dealing with the different stages of grief including guilt which in my situation with the death of my beloved angel Sherry has been overwhelming and yesterday got a hold of Animals and the the Afterlife by Kim Sheridan.  She has had dozens of pets who have passed and knows a lot about how difficult it is to lose these wonderful angels who have loved us so unselfishly during the all too short time that we have with them before they go back to be with God until it is our time to go over.   It's a great book and the best as far as spiritual comfort during the grieving process when I for one am just beginning to have to deal with living the rest of my life without Sherry and not knowing how I'm going to be able to do this.  I highly recommend it to others who would like to think of these angels as existing after death in a different place than the physical world so we can be reunited with them someday.  It gives you a little hope about not have lost them "forever".

Thank you, Rena.  I need all the help I can get.  I've been doing a lot of spiritual reading lately, but nothing on petloss grief because there are so many books out there on the subject and I wouldn't know where to begin.  This book has gotten excellent reviews and ratings.  It also helps a lot to have your recommendation.  I need reassurance that my baby is OK - the anguish I feel is from wondering if he really is.  Thanks again.

Hi Rena

Since Rupert died I have read a lot of books on grief, dying, pet loss and spirituality and there are a lot of books at libraries.  You don't have to buy them until you find one you like.  I bought "Coping with Pet Loss" by Robin Grey.  This has no spiritual aspect but it helped with the guilt over pts etc.  The other book I got was "Animals in the Spirit World" by Harold Sharp (A well known medium).

A well known NZ medium told me yesterday my big boys spirit was at my home.  That gave me some comfort. In all the psychic books I have read they talk about animals in the spirit world.  If it gives you comfort then there is no harm.

I have found some really good books.  If you want some other names put a note on here.

Thankyou so much for that Rena. I appreciate it. I need all the help I can get so I will definitely give it a shot. I need some hope, something to cling to. I need to know I will see my boy, othewise what is the point.

Thankyou so much for sharing.

Hi there,
Just thought I would add my $0.02, and recommend Animals in Spirit  by Penelope Smith.  Seems to be good so far- it appeals to me as it is more spiritual in nature.  I have also been reading Loss of a Beloved Pet, and it is helping somewhat as well.
