(I know this is off topic and I promise to be more ...um ...?somber?.... from now on.. but like I said my curiosity was driving me nuts... i guess this means I really am starting to heal a bit better and am a little more able to care about things like life and questions again....sigh... that makes me feel guilty in a way)

BUT...........

I have occasionally, because of the way some things are phrased, gotten the sense that this site is either based in England or has quite a few members from England. (Or some other country that uses words like MUM and fire BRIGADE) Is this true? I only ask because much like my sweet cats I have always been of a curious nature. I myself am from Ohio in the US . I've always had a little fascination with people from countries other than my own. It stirs my imagination to think of how different their lives & experiences must be from mine.

(Yeah Ohio...so we're kinda far removed from other cultures and counties --- but hey even a Boston, Massachusetts accent seems exotic and interesting to me :)

Hi Elizabeth,

firstly sorry for your loss and don't feel guilty, its a natural progression we all go through. I don't think this site is based in england, I get the idea its based in the US. But there are a lot of us from england on here, including myself, I hasten to add there are many I have met here from all over the world, all are welcome here. I am from the south coast of england, life probably is a bit different here, but I am soppy as heck about my animals that is the same for all of us here.

Love,
Donna

Go to the home page of petloss.com, scroll down to the topic "Why your help is needed to support this web site" click on the why your help is needed. It was a question I had asked after some of my pain went away, Who was the person that started this and where was this site located. Hope it helps with your answer.---Jerry in Oklahoma, USA.

shadowsmama  you have made such a
beautiful tribute picture for your baby. I
am sure Shadow is very proud of it. I know
like my Muffin that your baby wants you to heal.

I am from British Columbia, Canada.
Beacause of the way I use words like Mum
and spell colour and not color I get asked
many times if I am British. There was one

time when there was a lady from London
in chat with me. She was asked if she was
Canadian and I was asked if I was British.
I have been told that I have an accent.

EdW who started this caring place where
we can come and be with others who
understand is from the States. But the
family of Petloss spans the Globe.

The people of Petloss have helped me
when I really needed them. After the loss
of three fur babies and two brothers in
just over a year and a half.

I know you will meet many

caring hearts here.

Firstly, what a beautiful tribute of pictures of your baby. I hope in time, I can put together something similar for my girl Jesse, but unfortunately right now the pain is way too raw. I'll get to that happy place eventually I hope.

Despite our distances, the one thing that binds us all is the love for our pets - a universal truth. I'm from Australia and like the Brits and BC's in Canada, use similar spellings. But we are all united in our grief too, and it comforts me to know that you are all here giving support and advice on how to deal with such a huge loss.

Hi Elizabeth
Im a Brit but I have lived in Spain for 7 years.  That is the beauty of this site though, as others have said.  We might be thousands of miles a part physically, but how we feel about our babies binds us together so closely, we might be in the same room..........Love Di xxx

Hi elizabeth,

Your kitty is just so beautiful!! I bet she was the best snuggler.

i think too that this site is based in the US, but I am from Sydney Australia, we spell the same way as the British. There are a few Aussies and Kiwis on here.

Hi Elizabeth,

I thought most people on this website where from the USA but then I discovered that there is some people from Canada, Australia and England as well. It's very nice that we can all share our experiences, stories and that we can help eachother. I'm living in the Netherlands, my husband is dutch, my family is portuguese and I was born in Venezuela, so quite a mix. Anyway I just have one passport now so I'm just portuguese.
