Today the cremation company delivered her urn to me. I feel like she passed away yesterday. It has been over five weeks. Seeing her urn made it feel so real. My heart is breaking and I miss her so much. I was able to write a letter to her and put it in the urn with her.  My husband wrote a beautiful poem and my kids wrote a not that said I love you.  We also put her collar in with her because one of her favorite things to do is take walks.

Dear jlf –

When my kitty Rusty came home it represented the finality of his physical existence on this earth. Oh I didn’t think I was going to be able to stand it. My husband reminded me that his body was only the vessel in which his beautiful spirit resided. When he could no longer stay with his tired little body, his spirit was lifted into our hearts and that is where it will be, always. I take that sentiment and pass it along to you. Your Barkley’s spirit is right there in your hearts and surrounds you and your family, and that will never change. I hope you find comfort in knowing your baby is home with you now.

With warm hugs.

Rusty’s Mom.

She is beautiful!  I know it's sad for you - I lost my "Baby" on 3/29/08.  I have his urn in my room and each night I turn on a little flicker candle and put it beside of Baby's urn.  That gives me some comfort!

jlf, I am so sorry for your loss. That is a beautiful picture.  I wish this didn't have to happen to anyone.

Dear Jif,
I know it does seem to make it more real and final but please try to think of it as having her home with you.
I know it isn't the way you would wish to have her there but at least for me it felt like my boy was back home in some way.
The things that you and your family did when she came home are so heart warming it brought tears to my eyes.
I would love to read the poem and letter you placed with her
What a wonderful family your baby was blessed with.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love and Peace,
AurichWolf

Dear Jif,

It is ironic that right now Hershey is home with me and my other boyz areat the Spa for shots, baths, nail trims and Kugs is being neutered.

It feels good knowing that Hershey is still a part of all of us.

My sympathy to you and your family.

May you find peace in your heat. Your Barkley was a beautiful friend.
