I had put put my sweet little Bella Bean to sleep on Nov 9th.  I'm still grieving very much, she was my baby.

Bella spent the first half of her life not being treated very well at all.  She gave birth to many litters of puppies and I believe she was used predominately for breeding.  I found her at an animal shelter in New Jersey around her 7th birthday and it was love at first sight.  Her little body was worn out from giving birth and nursing, and her teeth were completely rotten and most of them had to be removed, but she was as sweet as she could be.  She was a little schnauzer mix and her ears and tail had been cut to make her look more like a "pure bred" (a term a abhor but I won't comment on further here).  From the beginning we had a very special bond that only grew as the years went by.  I am single and child free, Bella was my everything.  She was SO excited each day when I came home from work and was so docile and trusting with me.  She only had eyes for me and while she was nice enough to other humans all she really wanted was to be in my lap or at my feet.  Each night she slept in a little dog bed right next to my bed where I could easily reach her.

I loved everything about her from the tip of her nose to her little stub of a tail.  I loved the way she smelled, especially when she slept, she smelled a little like caramel popcorn!  Her tongue hung out the right side of her mouth, and this got her a lot of comments and smiles on the street.  She loved belly rubs!  And for a special treat she would sometimes get a little bite of pizza or egg and cheese sandwich on the weekend.

Bella was 13 years old when she passed and had a host of health problems including diabetes and cancer, but she never stopped being sweet a day of her life.  When I took her to the vet to be put to sleep she wore a little shirt that said LOVE LOVE LOVE.  That little sweetie was the purest form of love I have ever known and I'm so thankful that I got to have her in my life the last 6+ years.

Rest in Peace little baby, your mommy will miss you every single day of her life.

Bella was very lucky to be in your life, but sounds like it was mutual for you both. Your message both put tears in my eyes and makes me smile.
So sorry to hear she had to go..

Hoping you can get support to ease the pain!
