My elderly dog was sick about a week ago he was refusing to eat. We took him to the vet and they said he’s ok just give him chicken which he thanks god started eating . He came back home with us, he was doing fine and started eating again and moving about ,he was frail and weak and but still got up for his walk and ate. we have 7 other dogs and they all live together. I had a quick thought of separating him from them and asked my husband and he said I think he will be fine maybe being around the dogs is better for him, we let them out in the garden and back in . Yesterday we let them all out and after a while was searching for him and we couldn't find him, Until my husband found him in the pool, in devastated and heart broken I keep blaming my self for not bringing him I also just gave birth two months ago and have a two year old toddler. It’s been really hard mentally juggling everything . I started blaming my husband for not supporting me in this time with a new born and toddler and a sick dog mentally I was not 100% and honestly maybe made the wrong decision by keeping him with his brothers and sisters . I feel guilty and sad that he had to pass this way, weak and alone . I feel I didn’t do him justice he’s been my best friend for the last 13 years I love him and this is not what I wanted for him . My kids and new neon had vaccines yesterday so I have been drained and tired my husband works long hours I don’t know how we missed checking on him and putting them back in . I love you my angel Elle vee I’m sorry you went alone . I’m sorry mommy didn’t come to help you . This is heart breaking . I’m very sad

I'm so sorry this happened. Accidents are always upsetting and we end up blaming ourselves a lot of the time but the truth is accidents can happen even if we do keep a close eye on everything.  We can't control what happens 24-7 all day long.  It's just impossible.  So sorry for your loss of your elderly pup.  I know it's an awful feeling.
