We just made the incredibly difficult decision to have our sweet pug Crosby put to sleep.  I am completely heartbroken.  Crosby was 12+ years old and he's been a part of our family since he was born.  We lost his mom Gracie 7 years ago and his dad Winston 3 years ago.  Crosby was my baby.  He was never far away from me or my husband whenever we were home and because I worked from home he was almost always by my side.  A year and a half ago Crosby began having spine-related pain and we thought we were going to lose him then.  But with amazing medical care and diligent efforts to keep him comfortable we had him for another year and a half.  Knowing we would eventually lose him and the fact that it was abundantly clear it was time to let him go, the grief is so difficult.  Crosby was my companion through many of life's ups and downs and brought so much comfort and companionship.  Talk about unconditional love!  I know this grief will get better with time.  Our memories are full of love, laughter, fun, and great family events.
