I am new on here because i wanted to know if anyone else is grieving like i am over the loss of a pet. Emily was our little friend, she was a 3 yr old french lop rabbit, she was a house rabbit and caught mixi 6 months ago, all 5 of our outdoor rabbits died from the dark disease and emily seemed to pull through with lots of care. Well a month ago she lost the fight and died, she as left a big empty space in our lives and the house doesnt seem the same anymore, its been a month since she went and it doesnt get any easier, she was so funny and friendly and coping with the loss is painfull like losing a family member,

Im so sorry for the loss of your sweet little rabbit Emily. They really do leave an empty space in the house don't they. They are family members and it hurts so much to lose them. I lost my kitty Abby 2 months ago to cancer,I am just completely lost without her, she was only 9 :( I still cry everyday for her. There are may people here who are grieving tremendously for their fur babies that can be a help to you. Have you gone to or posted in the grief support forum board? That's where you will find the stories and can receive more post and replies. This will help you, the people there are very supportive. Ive also read stories of others who have lost their precious bunnies to. I hope this helps.
you are in my thoughts and prayers

You did lose a family member. A helpless child. Bandit will always be in your heart.

I just lost my 11 year old bunny almost a week ago and my heart is broken. My house feels so quiet and empty. :( I keep looking in the corner where he lived and spent most of his time. I still start to walk to him to say goodbye or hello or good morning or goodnight or just to say hi... it hurts so much. I don't know what to do.

It hurts less and yet at the same time it's just as bad. The loss and emptiness is impossible to explain to someone who hasn't felt the loss of a beloved pet.

All I can say is I pray their energies are still with us and that we will see all each other again someday. We must try to find the magic and meaning in life, even if they're not here with us. It's so painful and I don't know if I can do it, but just know you're not alone.

Dearest Myboy,

I am so sorry about the loss of your precious bunny. I can relate to many of the things you shared. I especially identify with the emptiness. My dog was my trusted friend, companion, confidant, my baby. It has been over 10 months since he died and I still catch myself expecting to see him come around the corner to greet me. I hope you find peace and comfort by reading posts on this site and realizing you are not alone.

Please take care of yourself.

With deepest sympathy,

Hi Please know your loss is in my heart .
My German Shepherd passed away suddenly of A TWISTED Stomach ..
He was a 5 1/2 healthy boy..
I believe he is know my Spirit Guardian angel and is just right at my side.
The bond and love we have with are pets and living creatures that surround us is more than we know.
Please be comforted your bunny is near and you physically can touch . His body was a shell for his soul and now he no longer needs it.
Love and Blessings
