Tuesday, May 21st I lost my best friend. Shrodinger was the sweetest cat boy. He could open all drawers and cabinets, if you laid down he'd lay on your chest and purr and was always in the window waiting for me to get home. I've lost pets before but none hurt quite like this. I woke up to him panting and by the time I sat up he was convulsing and when I got to him dead. I tried CPR and it didn't work. He would of been a year old next month. I can't stop replaying that last moment and how I couldn't help him. I just don't know how to move forward, don't feel like I can. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I’m so sorry to hear that and so young too. The fact he is so young makes his death even more painful. I lost my dog Tuesday and the pain is very raw. Read the posts in this section, we are all going through the same thing - I’m finding them comforting but nothing can heal the pain quickly. Thinking of you.

Hi Ashlie,

I'm so sorry.  Seeing your poor boy go through that is traumatic and with trauma it's normal to keep replaying things.  You tried your best to help your sweet boy and it's obvious that you loved Schrodinger very much.  This is all very new and it will take time for you to work through it.  A couple of weeks ago I traumatically lost my little kittie and the guilt and pain I've been experiencing has been awful.   I have been seeing a counselor and using this message board and, although, it still pains me every day I'm able to take a break from it by finding things to distract myself - work, TV, my family.  Time is a great healer, you won't forget your beautiful boy but things will get easier.

Thinking of you.
