On Tuesday (22.05.18) I have lost my beloved rabbit Belle. I buried her yesterday and i cant stop crying and feeling guilty. I havent been at home when she passed away and the guilt that i wasnt there to comfort her makes me constantly cry. She was only 3years old and possibly she died of E. Cuniculi. She has been really low that day and havent been eaten. I havent realise she could be dying as she was like that before. The guilt is killing me inside and dont know what to do. She has died in her hutch next to her sister who she shared the hutch with. I knew she has someone close to her but i still feel she should have died in my arms..... Please i miss her terribly. I hope she has forgiven me for not being with her.....

Hi Nataliee28,

I'm SO sorry for your loss and I'm sorry that no one responded with any words of comfort.

I just found your entry after realizing that I was able to do a search for "rabbits".

I know how you feel. My rabbit, "Baby Bunny", who I referred to as my little sister, passed away at seven years back on July 20. I MISS her SO much. I was always worried that that day would come, but I still didn't realize it would happen.

Since your loss of Belle, I hope you have found some peace and comfort. I've been messaging with dog and cat owners, but it's not the same. Rabbits are different and only another person who has cared for one would understand.

Please, write to me when you have a chance. I'd like to see how you're doing and maybe you could help me, as well.

Again, I wish I had seen your post weeks ago, so you didn't have to grieve alone.
