I have gotten so many inquiries as to how Cheeseburger got his name that I thought it would be a nice subject to post, especially because everyone always smiled when they asked me his name.

My ex had a cat that my daughter named Pizza because the kitty liked eating pizza. Pizza had 4 kittens, and my son and daughter decided to name all the kitties "food names." Hamburger, French Fry, and Chicky Nugget all found homes, which left only Cheeseburger. My ex brought him from Pennsylvania for "a visit" and of course we ended up keeping him. Cheesey was the first cat I ever had. In the beginning I thought there was something wrong with him because he slept so much; I had no idea that's what cats do!

Funny thing is, Cheesey liked Pepperidge Farm Cheese Goldfish Crackers, Cream Cheese and Mozzarella String Cheese.

Cheeseburger brought so much love and happiness to our lives. He was a very smart, beautiful, sweet cat. I miss him so much, but I am thankful for the time we shared. I will never ever forget him. He is in my heart forever.

Cheesey - I LOVE YOU!

Cheeseburger is so cute and I love the story of how he got his original name. I think it was lovely idea to call all the kitties with food names. Again I'm sorry for your loss.

I love the story of how Cheeseburger got his name. Children are such delights and come up with the cutest ideas! Years ago we had hamsters that kept multiplying. My kids named them after brands of jeans; Jordache, Gloria Vanderbilt, Levi, etc. Thank you for the smile. Thinking of you dear Cheeseburger, I hope you and Mr. Meowgy are playing together. Dee,

I love this story of Cheeseburger's name. And, what a doll. I love the photo you've posted on another post, of you and Cheeseburger together, too. Just a beautiful pic.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't have great words of wisdom and I don't know how we get through the pain and emptiness. It's been 15 months since I lost Molly, and although the "rough edges" of the pain have lessened, I still miss her with every beat of my heart. They are so perfect - it's so devastating to lose them.

Thanks for sharing the story and the photos with us. True beauty!

I love the name Cheeseburger, and the photo of you two together. it shows the love for sure. my special dog Oscar ( he passed away last April) was named  after Oscar Wilde, one of my favorites. when Oscar was 11 we adopted a hurricane katrina dog and named him Felix so we could have the odd couple ( and they were!). after Oscar passed on we wanted another bichon, Kramer was named after the Seinfeld character because he can bust thru a dog door the way Kramer came thru the door on the show- with wild abandon, and a bit clumsy. just in case you were curious!

I am so sorry about Cheesy, he looked like a very special friend. I hope he and Oscar have become friends, Oscar always enjoyed cats. I still miss my handsome guy so much
