Last night at 9:15 my beloved cat Claire departed for Rainbow Bridge.  She was 19 yrs old and had been with me for 18 years.  She joins my Samantha and my Bear, and I know my 3 girls are again loving the company of each other.  As she was passing from this life to the next we stroked her head and told her how much we loved her and not to be afraid.  She lived a long life and a loving life.  We will never forget you our little China Doll and we look forward to that glorious day of reunion at the bridge.  Thank you so much for picking us...we were in no ways worthy of the 18 years of love you gave us but you gave it anyway.  God bless you my sweet gentle and beautiful child.

Your words to Claire are so sweet and special.  I am very sorry she has passed on, but it is nice that she will be joining her dear friends. The bridge is filled with so much happiness while there is much heartache here without them.  You were blessed with many years with Claire and many memories.

What a sweet sentiment.  I can read all of the love in your words.  Claire was a very lucky kitty and you were fortunate as a family to have each other.  No matter the age it is a pain that cuts deep when they leave.  I hope you post more to tell us how you are doing as the days progress.  You must take great comfort in knowing how peacefully she passed.

Dearest Steve,  I am so very sorry for your loss of Claire.  What an adorable name for a kitty.  My son lost his 18 year old Persian, Savannah, back in May and he was devastated.  He had had her since she was 6 weeks old, so I know your pain.

Bless you and the spirit of your beloved girls, all 3 now together.

Love,  Diane

Steve,

I'm sorry for the loss of your beautiful Claire. I always remember that
your wonderful Golden Samantha and my beloved Golden Teddy went
to the Bridge at almost the same time. They are all together now. My
Golden family is at three now, the two I got after Teddy went and last
year a young one. Best wishes to your family.

Thank you all for you kind wishes.  I rechecked at the vet and found out Claire wasn't 19 as I'd thought but was actually 20.  Not bad for a young cat with kittens dropped off at the vets doorstep and not expected to live.

Mare, Darian, and Lori...thanks for your kind words of comfort and sympathy.  I'm not here very often anymore but I had been a daily visitor for several years.  It's nice to see that the same breed of caring and compassionate people are still coming here.

Diane...what can I say?  I don't know why the picture didn't show up on the page but I hope you took a look at it.  They were a close knit loving family here and I know they are again at the bridge.  It's only the boys left now and I'm down to one cat (Skittles) and one dog (Sport).  It will always be a comfort to know that this place is here and my dearest friends like you will be here also.  Bless you and yours always and forever.

Carol...it's been a long time but I won't ever forget your Teddy.  Your gentle old fellow as you called him is on my list of pets to meet after I rejoice in the reunion at the bridge with my own fur family.  I plan to visit with Teddy, Max, Aurich, Elsa, Spartacus, Clancy, Miss Dallas, Muffin, and so many others.  Their loving parents have meant so much to me over these last 7+ years.  Bless the memory of all of our children forever in our hearts.  Bless you too Carol...thanks for coming by my dear friend.

love, Steve

Dear Steve,  I saw the photo and they are all gorgeous.  My Dallas and your girls and my son's are all having a great time with renewed health until we meet them again.  We must believe that.

Dear Steve,

I am so sorry for your loss. Your girls are beautiful and I know they are looking down on you right now! I lost my two girls this past year. My 17 year old cat Hershey passed on October 17th, 2009 and my 15 year old dog Jasmine passed on May 15th, 2010. I know how you are feeling..it's very hard. Take care <3

Dearest Steve,

I was so saddened to hear of your loss of Claire & your loving words to your girl were so tender & filled with deep abiding love.

I apologize for not seeing your post sooner. I have been very worried about Marsh because he has been limping whenever he is active and now with a second opinion they feel it is a tear in a ligament in his shoulder . I have not had a chance to check in to Petloss but this evening I felt a need to come to the board & read the posts & I saw yours here.

Your three girls wait for you Steve & they have each other while they wait. You have several Angels watching over you & you will find comfort in their Love. Please know dear friend, I am thinking of you & care.Steve, you have been a dear friend over the years & I wish you comfort for your heart. Although you have shed many tears through your sad loses, You have had  much love in your life and you gave yours so deeply &made your fur children's lives richer for being a part of each others days on earth. God Speed Claire & keep watch over your dad . . I know that Sam & Bear are with you now and you will have each other until your Daddy is with you again. He would really love to have a sign from above if you can.

Love.

Jo

Steve,
I must add to my post and mention what a lovely photo of your three girls.  I can picture them at the Bridge just like the photo together once again and always a part of you forever more,

cwigg & moonlight...thank you for stopping by and thanks for looking at the picture.  Almost every picture I ever took of Samantha had a cat in it.  She loved cats and they immediately took to her.  When I brought Claire home from the vets (she'd been left at his door) I put the cat carrier down in the living room and opened the door.  Her first sight in her new home was Samantha laying under the coffee table.  Claire waltzed right over to her and mushed Sam in the face.  Now how could she have known?  I'm sure there's a lot more mushing going on at the bridge now.  Thanks again for you words of comfort.

Dearest Jo;

Hi old buddy :-).  I figured you'd find a way to get here before the post disappeared.  Somehow we always manage to find each other.  I hope Marsh is on the mend and back to his old self very soon.  I know so well what losing mobility means to a golden.  Claire was a beautiful soul Jo, I wish you could have known her.  I got a call from the vet that 2 queens with 3 kittens each had been left at his door.  Claire was one of the queens and I went to take a look at her a couple of days later.  When I got there she was feeding all 6 kittens since the other queen dried up.  Of course I told the vet that she was the one I wanted.  The good mother, the loving fur child, the wonderful sibling, she was all of those and she lived longer than any pet I've ever had.  I mourn her passing but as you say, my girls are together again and I know they are only a thought away.  My best to you always Jo....keep us posted about the Marsh man.  Prayers are being sent for him.

Love,
Steve

    Hi Old Friend,

Your    Claire undoubtedly is a beautiful soul & you knew immediately when you went to see her for the first time & through your wisdom you knew how special she was & always will be.. I do wish I could have known her but I smile hearing about her story now and how she came to be a part of your life. You will have many old friends waiting at the Bridge for you Steve & I believe the Love will always bring us back to them . There is so much we will want to tell them when we see them but in truth they already know.
You made me laugh when you said I ‘d figure a way to get here before the post disappeared. That does happen amazingly.
Thank you for thinking of the Marsh man and for your prayers. It will take quite a while for the tear in the shoulder to heal and I know he wants to run and play and hang out with other doggies once in a while. He swam yesterday and seemed okay after that but he will have to be on a short leash for a while & he wont be happy that's for sure.. I worry so much about him but I know Max is looking after us from above just as your girls are doing for you. Samantha & Max are surely keeping a good watch. I know my Max is on overtime with my chaotic life.
Steve, take care of yourself & my best to you always, I hope life is gentle for you.
Love,
Jo
