This applies to people but it can also apply to pets. I heard or read this somewhere years ago but have no idea where, if anyone knows please let me know what/who the source is:
"No man truly dies who still lives in the hearts of his friends".

i have not seen (and couldn't find) the exact same quote - likely it is one of those for which there are many variations. This was the closest i found:

Among the members of the Society of Friends, there is a saying that 'no man truly dies while there are Friends still left to remember him'

Thank you. That is really close. Maybe I saw it in a movie. I have no idea if it was in a movie or in a book.
