My husband & I were all set to travel 8 hours, 4 states away this coming weekend to meet two Dalmatians to potentially adopt one of them.

My governor has now put the state where the dogs are on a quarantine list, meaning if we travel there we have to self quarantine for 14 days upon returning home & that is just not viable.

Under the circumstances is it rude to ask the rescue operator / foster parents to drive 3 hours one way to meet up in a state that is not closed?

These are also the closest available Dalmatian recues.  We're not interested in another breed.  We do not want mixes / mutts.  We tried for a Dal in the neighboring state but it turns out he is 4 years older then is stated on Petfinder & last fall when he was sent to a potential forever home he killed 4 cats so he's not my dog.

Please do not turn this in to a political thread about your beliefs about Covid, masks, shut downs etc.  I do not want to debate you.  I will honor the laws of my state.  All I want to know from this group is whether my request is OK.  Obviously the rescue / fosters can decline in which case the dog will not get a forever home from us.

My heart is breaking.  I was so excited about this adoption
