I just thought I would tell everyone about what I have been doing to help myself to get through the loss of my Gizmo. I have been planting flowers on his grave and I painted a cross for him with his name and his birth and death dates. I also painted flowers on it for him . I hope that later on this summer that the flowers I planted will fill out and will look very nice. I will post a picture as soon as I can. Peace and love to all of you. Gizmos mom

Dear Gizmo's Mom,

I am happy that you are finding healing in planting flowers and painting at Gizmo's resting place.  I'll bet that Gizmo's spirit was right next to you guiding you along. It sounds lovely and will look forward to your picture when you post it.  The rose I planted on my tabby girl's one year bridgeday last year is now blooming like crazy, I put in a penny from the year she came to me before I planted the rose.

What I found helpful is to save the tags that come with the plants as little mementos, and can be used as bookmarks for any pet loss related books.

Peace to your dear heart as well.

Love from Tweeny's ma

Dear Gizmo's Mom,

Thank you for sharing about the memorials you have made for your Precious Gizmo, the cross sounds lovely, and when the flowers bloom they will be beautiful.  It helps to do things like that for our babies, something special made with love by our own hands.  I'm not very artistic, but I've created a memory place on an heirloom table for my Grunt's ashes, with his picture, candles, a bamboo plant, his photo album, the last collar he wore, and his favority squeaky toy.  I put fresh cut flowers there too.  It helps to make a beautiful place.

Wishing you peace, and saying a prayer for Gizmo, your Beloved Boy,
Katharine, Grunt's Mom

I am so glad that you are taking comfort from doing those things for your Gizmo, I would love to see it when it is all blooming.  I find doing things like that help me too, I think it is a comfort being close to the earth, something to do with the energies I think.  God Bless, Di xxx

Gizmo's Mom,

I think that this kind of "creative healing" is very helpful. I, too, planted a garden for Molly, with a Celtic cross and with a little plaque that has an excerpt of the poem "...If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven, and bring you home again..." I also paint, and I've painted many pet portraits since I lost Molly -- It is incredibly healing to sit with others who have crossed the bridge, and paint them for their human companions. I haven't been able to paint Molly, but someday...

Thanks for letting us know about your healing. I look forward to seeing the photos once you can post them.

Hugs,

Hi Gizmo's mom,

I think it is so positive that you are putting your energy into somethinn positive to remember your Gizmo. It must be so therapeutic and at the same time you feel as though you are doing something for your baby.

I am looking forward to seeing your pictures.
