I volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center, and one of our companion animals (who could not be released into the wild due to injury) had to be euthanized because he had cancer in his throat. He was a crow known as Crow Baby. He was a combination of dog and cat. He was a cat in that you had to gain his trust, which took me three years. But then he was like a dog in that he was extremely loyal to you.

He loved grouse feet, mice tails and especially meal worms. But he REALLY loved all of the volunteers, (actually only those whom he deemed worthy of his affections).

So here's to you Crow Baby. It was a glorious 16 years. You can finally fly and experience what it feels like to be a true bird.

I will always cherish the opportunity of petting you, receiving your loving vocalizations, and learning about what a smart boy you were.

And thank you for being my bird friend. I love you.

I have always heard crows are highly intelligent and can be good pets. So sorry for your loss. RIP Crow Baby

Thank you. Crow was so much fun and so smart. Our whole department of rehabbers and volunteers is devastated by his death.

Funny how a little crow can affect your life. He was a very very good boy. And handsome too.
