today has been so difficult for me. we will be saying goodbye to our dog son Leo tomorrow . I have cried, been angry, been in denial, and have tried to understand reasoning. we know it is for the best, but watching your 7yr old say goodbye to his brother was very hard for me to do. I told him leo will be sleeping with the angels and will be waiting for us when we go to heaven. I went to church to pray to ask God to please give me and my husband strength for tomorrow and to ask that Leo will understand that what we are doing is out of love and not hate. I asked that he feel no pain and that he be happy with him in heaven. I don't know if heaven is real for animals, but my faith says that it is. so I have to trust that. i don't know when I will stop feeling guilty or sad about this and I don't know how long I will shed tears or blame myself, but I hope that this support group will help me thru it.

Dear Valnmaurice

I am going through the same thing. Someone on another blog stated that a show called Derek said it best. In the show the guy Derek has put his dog to sleep and he's very distraught. The vet says "look at it this way Derek. He had a life packed with nothing but fun. And then it just ended and the most peaceful and comfortable way with his love ones around him. Not one day of true discomfort. The perfect life......I think of that saying and wish that for myself. I'm sure that Leo would say the same. Praying we all find some kind of peace
