Friday after class I came home to a empty pen. My bunnies were kept in the exercise pen outside while their cage was being cleaned. My parents were negligent in locking the pen and my sister wasn't checking on the bunnies so they escaped. Usually they don't venture far but they can adjust and build courage after a few hours. I really loved my bunnies and took care of them the best I could given my limitations. Now they are missing and i know they the chances of finding them are slim... It hurts so much thinking about how I saw them for the last time without realizing it and giving them a little pat then going to class and now I may never seen them again. It's so brutal. I miss them so much. I didn't ask for them and they didn't ask for me but we grew to trust and love each other. I don't know what to do anymore.

It's really hard not knowing what happened, the pen was very secure, I fear a predator took them. If they somehow pulled a escaped I fear that a predator can easily take them. One of the bunnies, my sweet penny, is such a slow bunny. We would often play together in the yard and she ran very slow for a bunny and would quit after only a few mins of play. I worry for her the most. I have notified all my neighbors and local shelters but to no avail. Today will be the 3rd day they have been missing, and with the rain earlier today I fear they may also be sick. I just am really struggling with the unknown, are they out in someones garden enjoying themselves? Are they scared and cold under a burrow? Are they running for thier lives at this moment? Have them already becomes natures lunch? These feelings dream me the most, the unknown truly is terrifying.

So sorry for this loss.  Your family meant well and it was probably an accident.  Lets pray that those beautiful bunnies are well and nothing happened to them.

Hi I’d just like to echo what f_defillo1 has said. It sounds like an accident that was easy to make and hopefully your bunnies will be ok. I joined this forum due to my lovely bunny passing away, I know how they love to explore and how quick they can get away. Hopefully they have found shelter and someone will find them safe and well. You obviously love and care for them so much. It must be so hard not knowing but I really hope they will be ok
