The holidays are hard enough without losing a pet you raised from a tiny kitten for eleven years. My baby  passed away in my arms three says ago. At least we got to spend Christmas Day together and I thought she was fine...this goes to show how fleeting life can be.

She got to eat her traditional Christmas dinner with the family and I am thankful for that.

Oh, she knew when the holidays rolled around for there was extra activities in the kitchen. She knew she was going to get her favorite treat. Turkey.

Right now, it seem surreal. It feels like a terrible dream I'll wake up from and she'll be there staring at me to get up and gt her what she wants.

I agree that the Holidays are hard enough but when you combine the sadness of losing a pet it makes it all the harder to cope with. I am so happy that you did get to share your traditional Christmas dinner with her. I know that this isn't enough when your are dealing with the heart ache but this will in time be a memory that will last you your life time along with others that you created with your journey with her.

I have gone through two Christmas' with out my Heart dog (Termy) and it was easier this year than last but I still miss him with all my heart and would love to have one more of everything one last time but it isn't written in the cards so I wait until I can cross over the Bridge and be reunited with him again, FOREVER.

You will always shed some tears for her but time will help you cope. True happiness may never come a gain but you can learn to just live and recall all the best memories that you shared and made with your baby.
Love and doggie hugs
