My beautiful lab of almost 14 yrs old had to be put down two months ago. She had a stroke and could not move at all . She quit eating and drinking ,,, I kept her for five days forcing water into her and changing her diaper like a baby ... she was skin and bone in that little of a time ... My son made me see this could not go on so it had to be done ,, I stayed with her til the end .. it killed me I have been sick ever since with stomach issues fever sore throat etc. I cry every day , don’t know how I will
Ever accept this or be the same again.i am 75 widow .. she was so much to me I can’t even explain it.i feel quilt I let her suffer for those days when she never knew pain.and the time in the euthanasia room is something I will never forget . I feel like I am losing it.

Oh no, sadly it sounds like this had to be done. It is amazing the places these fine animals find in our hearts and families. Do you have some family near by? being on this post helped me knowing someone was listening. I think the pain will subside as the day go by.

I understand how you feel. I had to put my Pepper down 3 1/2 weeks ago. She had a stroke and I can't stop crying. I miss her so bad it hurts to the core of my soul. I love her so much my heart is forever broken. I pray you find comfort and peace.
