Last night, my neighbor knocked on my front door to tell me there was a double rainbow outside. I hadn't seen one, and luckily, rememebred my camera. I ran to the backyard & stopped short. It was beautiful :)

When I get home, I'll send the pics to get them set up so I can post them here.

I thought it was a sign from Blue & Riefer and that they've met @ the Bridge & all is well.

Here's the pics. Beautiful!!

Wow that has to be a sign. Two of them. I am jealous once again. I don't think I've gotten any signs yet. Saxon is going to have to make my sign obvious because I'm brain dead right now.

I can't wait to post the pics. Soon as I got home I sent them to Ed (here) so soon as he gets them sized and sent back to me, I'll post them. It's really something.

Months ago we booked a cruise to celebrate my husband's birthday on May 31 and have an early anniversary gift to ourselves. When the time came to go I almost canceled--Layla was obviously getting sicker, and I was terrified to leave her. My best friend came to housesit, someone she had known all her life, so I went on. Mid-trip, when we were coming back in a tender from a visit to the ruins at Tulum I saw this incredible rainbow. I've never seen one with such vivid colors nor one as long and flat, stretching for what seemed like miles and miles over Cozumel in the distance. Tears started dripping down my face. I thought it was a sign that Layla had left--had gone over the Rainbow Bridge. I knew it meant that she would soon be leaving, if she hadn't already gone. I decided not to call. I couldn't stand knowing.

When we got back on June 1 her little face was at the window to greet us, and I cried so hard I think I soaked my friend's shirt. My friend said she and Layla had talked and she'd told her that she could go while Mommy was away or wait to see me again--that she knew she was going to be leaving soon. Layla decided to stay to see me again, as I prayed she would. Just one more day... I actually had 12 days more, thank God. She was sick, but we got to cuddle together and I kissed her and loved her and told her it was okay to leave, that Mommy would miss her with all my heart but I would be all right. She didn't go on her own, but she got to the point where we knew we had no choice but to help her when she became disoriented and wouldn't eat, etc.

I loved this girl of mine more than I have ever loved anything other than my husband. She was my child, my princess, my little angel-pie, as I called her. My other babies are well loved but there will never be another Layla. There will never be another match to fit my heart and soul so well. She waited on me. The love was so strong. It always will be. But I have to go on. Right now I'm batterered and torn and can barely function, but I will go on for as long as I'm supposed to be here. I have a red Maine Coon cat sitting on top of my chair, on my head, who needs me, and the other three Havanese, who were left alone all day today while we looked at some property, were so glad to see me. I thought the girl would never stop "talking" to me--I don't know what she was reporting on, but she was clearly giving me the day's events of how her brothers acted and it was a long recital.
