I've joined this site as I just do not know how to cope with my loss. My 12 year old Labrador bessy was put to sleep yesterday and I just feel so numb. I can't eat and I can't stop crying, she was unwell for the past 2 weeks and kept collapsing, I knew the night before that she was ready to go but I I was not ready to let her go, I buried her in my garden with tears and a big hole in my heart, I am not coping well at all, when will this get better?
I thought having her in my garden would be healing for me but all I worry about is if she's alone and cold. At this moment I just can't imagine my future without her

this is the worst time. you are horribly shocked by what is going on all about you. it can't be real..but it is at the same time. the worst thing in the world is going on right now. and there is no way out of this. you are frightened too. and desperate to k ow how to turn all of this off. when tum died the thought of a future without her made me want to die. i did not want to live life without her. it took a very long time for me to even begin to get out of that frame of mind. you will survive this and not feel this way forever. you can also buy tarps to put over your dog's grave. put one tarp down..and then put multiple blankets over the tarp. now put another tarp over the blankets. you are keeping her warm. and the blankets will stay dry.

I am so sorry for your loss! I lost my Beau on the 10th, it was sudden and traumatic. I pray you find comfort from those that are suffering as well.

I know exactly how you feel - I lost my beautiful boy max very suddenly on 1st April - it’s just devastating. I have been through this before and know that eventually it does get better but the first few months are hard. Cry when you want and take your time grieving - I’m am so sorry for your loss and wish you all the best.
