Ed just sent me the instructions on how to post a picture of my Layla. I'm crying because it was at exactly 4:30 PM on June 13--four weeks ago today--when I had to say goodbye. His timing of this is something of a gift. This is my beautiful girl, smiling at you all.

So so cute! What kind of dog is she? I wish I knew what time my angel passed away. It's weird because the night he left I woke up at 3:30am and couldn't go back to sleep. Now all this week I wake up at the same time every night. Kinda weird. I wonder if that is the time he left. I wish I would have checked on him that night like I always did. It's weird that I didn't.

Layla is such a beautiful girl. It was a sign from Layla that it was 4 weeks to the day that you were able to post her picture. I know she's playing at the bridge with my yorkie,Jingles. He left for the bridge 5 months ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of him.

How precious, Layla has a little Veronica Lake action going on.... She really is as pretty as her name.. Thanks for sharing her with us, I know it means so much.

Layla is a Havanese, and in this photo she's wearing a shorter haircut since it's easier to keep. They are a distinct breed, according to legend brought to Cuban families of wealth by sea captains to gain entrance many years ago. It was a status symbol to own one. During the revolution only a few escaped so the breed was brought back and registered in the USA in 95. Layla was one of the foundation females but I never bred her because she had a liver shunt. They were also called Havana Silk Dogs and some people are trying now to make that a distinct breed. Havanese, Maltese, Bichon Frise, Bolognese, and Cotons (I think) are all types of bichons, even though each is an old breed and not crossed with the others. I need to post another photo where she's lying in this pose on the couch like a cover girl.  God, how I miss her!

I kissed that nose so many times it's a wonder the color didn't all wear off!
