I went on Petloss over a year ago, since then Smokey my gray tabby was pts. I have a stray that is very sick in my yard.....she stares at me with glassy eyes, she drools excessively and has lost a tremendous amount of weight.....she can hardly walk.....I just wait.....wait until I find her lifeless body somewhere, I feel hopeless, and useless when this occurs......it brings back horrid feelings I had when Smokey was ill. I cry now. I know soon that powers to be will alleviate her suffering. I cant save them all, although I have tried.  Her name is Colors. This drains me physically and mentally. I cannot stop this but I would gladly welcome any help from all the great people on this site. Pray that God takes her soon for me and that I can bury her with dignity.  Yoda

Dear Yoda,  I am so sorry for this hopeless soul.  I pray God takes her in his hands and takes all her pain away.  She will be welcomed by all of our bridge kids.

Bless you for caring.

Love,  Diane, Mom of Miss Dallas at the bridge over 5 1/2 yrs

Yoda,

You sound very compassionate and as an animal lover, drained.  Can you take the stray cat into a vet - if for nothing else, euthanasia?  The Humane Society can also do this.  I'm sure you are in a very bad place right now from your writing.  Blessings to you and the stray.  I will pray for you.

I too am like you, I cannot cope with animal suffering.  As Sheila says, can you get her to a vet, is that possible.  If not, I pray that colours will pass very soon.  Love Di xxx

Bless you, Yoda. You and Colors are both in my thoughts. I wish I could do more to ease your suffering and Color's, too.

As the others have suggested, there is the Vet option if you're able. If not, is there a Humane Society of some sort you can get to?

Remember, you can always call your county's Animal Control and they will come to where you live and take care of Colors for you. Most of those people are very dear. All the one's I've met are caring people. I just don't know what your circumstances are.

This I do know. You are right. You do your best but you can't save them all. Oh, how we wish we could. It's very hard right now for you to remember all those you have saved when Colors is so ill and you feel so helpless. I can feel your heart breaking, Yoda. I'm so sorry.

Just please know that you and Colors are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Sending you Tons of Healing Hugs! You're a Wonderful Person and Bless You Again and Again!

Always,
Angel xxx

I have worked with various agencies as a volunteer and board member.  Depending on where you live, and the size of your city, many Humane Societies or ASPCAs will come and pick up an animal who is clearly suffering as this cat is (or ask you to bring the animal in immediately).  A decision will be made regarding whether the animal can be saved/rehabilitated.  Animal control will also pick up, but will usually euthanize a lot quicker than the other agencies.

Please make the call soon.  The way you've described her, this little one is suffering so and deserves some help or, at the very least, a more humane passing.

Many hugs and prayers,
Melissa
