Moody, I miss watching you play, watching you dance to be petted.  I miss watching you with the other kitties.  The dent from your weight is still on the back of the love seat.  I've put your favorite blanket in the closet for now.  Maybe some day I'll use it again, but for now, I want to remember YOU on that blanket.

I've been crying a lot for you, sweet boy.  Your daddy cried too, when we brought you home for the last time and laid you to rest in the back garden.  He's been very sweet to your sister, we'll take good care of her for you.

Whitey misses you, who's going to clean his ears now?  Mini wonders where you are.  She's stopped calling for you, but she knows that you're gone.  She's coming to me for more pets than she ever did before.  Demeter...well you know.  Demeter thought you were just a big pain in her rear.  But even SHE looked for you at dinner time on Monday.

You were so loved.  And if love could keep you healthy, you'd have lived forever.  I wanted to save you, but instead I could let you go.

I love you my sweet boy, and I know that I'll see you again.

Run free.  Eat lots of chicken and tuna water and run after all the treats!

Thank you for the kind replies.  I got a beautiful card from the vet's office today.  Am I still hurting?  Of course. 2 steps forward, 1 step back, on a good day.  It's still too soon, too painful, but I DO know that being here, with this group has helped.
Thank you

You are so welcome! Being here has help me as well it's been a few years that I have lost 2 of kittens. They were still babies, one of them I didn't get to be with very long since I rescued her but the time I had her where wonderful. I'm so sorry that you are still hurting the reason you are feeling like these is because your recent loss is still new. it just takes time for you could recover and sometimes you don't. everyone is different in their grief for me it's already been a couple of years but that doesn't mean I don't miss my babies. that is great that you got a beautiful card from the vet's office, I bet that must be something to help you cope with the pain you are having regarding your baby. if you don't mind me asking what kind of pet your Moody was?

Moody was a beautiful black cat.  He had beautiful green/gold eyes, and a sleek back coat with a white undercoat.   He was just over 8 years old.  Kidney cancer is brutal

I miss him very very much
