Yesterday marked Freckles 4th anniversary at the Bridge. It was made all the sadder by my having to visit the vet with another cat. Buddy, who I adopted in June, has a lump. The same vet who saw Freckles through his end was the one who saw Buddy. It was all I could do to not cry in front of my family yesterday as we were having a birthday party for one of my brothers and my nieces and nephew were there. I'll get the cytology test results back tomorrow. I'm not ready to lose another cat, but then again I don't think I'm ever ready for it.

Freckles, you are free, and free to love and give love from where you are. I know you're looking down on me, and your former family and letting everyone know you're all right. I struggled for a long time with the thought that you had to chose between me and your former family, but now I know there's enough love for everyone and there doesn't have to be a choice now. If it's time for Buddy to go please guide him. I will always love you.

Dear Maureen,  I am so sorry you are having to go through another cat being sick with having lost your wonderful companion, Freckles, 4 years ago.  I pray Buddy will be alright.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.  We will all be here for you, if needed.  Your Freckles is well and fine at the bridge and will wait for you there.  He misses you too, but is having a great time with all of our kids.

Bless you and the spirit of your beloved angel.

Love Diane, mom of Miss Dallas at the bridge 8 years

I hope you receive good news from the vet regarding Buddy's condition.  I will keep him in my prayers.

Freckles had a very special celebration as he marked his fourth year at the bridge.  That gang really knows how to have a good time.

I heard from the vet this morning - it doesn't look good for Buddy. The cytology indicates a strong probability of fibral sarcoma. He's going to be x-rayed on Friday to 1) check and see if it may be something else irritating him and 2) to see if it's spread. I am devastated. I've only had him for 4 months. He's an absolute gentleman - rarely meows and just a love. I'll post more as I find out exactly what's wrong.
