last week we lost or sweet beagle popcorn :(. I was on the sight last week but was in a daze. I remember seeing an article /poem/letter that a dog had written (?) staying that it was ok for his masters/owners to get another  pet. The dog felt that it would be an honor to him if another pet wore his collar etc. I can't remember where on the sight i found it. Last week was just a blurr. I don't plan to get another dog but want to read it never the less.
 Thanks in advance.
We miss you Popcorn...

First I am so sorry about the loss of your dear sweet Popcorn.
The first days and weeks can certainly be one big blur or daze.
It has been 2 years today since I lost my beloved cat Bobby and only
3 months since I lost My Sweet Sunny...
But it was the loss of my dog Midnight in 1974 when I first discovered
the essay to which I think you are referring.
Midnight was the first dog I could actually call mine and was my best friend from 4th grade through college.

It's called "The Last Will and Testament of an Extremely Distinguished Dog"
by Eugene O'Neill. You can find it on line.

I still often find comfort in it and now I know you will too.

I wish you peace.
