I had to put my baby down yesterday and my heart is broken. I can’t stop crying, can’t eat anything. Why do we have to hurt so bad. I miss her little face looking at me with those little guilty eyes that only (Kayla-boxer) could do. She was such an awesome friend she swore she was my granddaughters mother she protected her and waited for her to wake up every morning. At night she would push my door open as to say goodnight grandma. I don’t know how to stop feeling so sad and stop these tears from constantly falling. Please advise please tell me it’s going to stop hurting so bad.

Hi Glozano

I guess it’s like losing a loved one, the pain doesn’t completely go away but it gets a bit easier as time goes by. I had to put my baby down exactly a month ago today and I still cry almost everyday, some days more than once. Sometimes i’ll be driving home and i will just burst into tears. Just cry it all out, I’m sure she’s always there beside you wiping your tears away.

The love for a pet and the grief that follows the loss is something that has to be experienced to be believed. It is a wonder, how a little fur baby can leave a giant sized hole in the heart that never heals for a lot of us.

Glozano and Tysonsmum, you are just in the early stages of a long difficult journey which the passing of your pet has launched you into. After my cat passed in Dec 2017, I cried every day for almost 2 years. It was totally unbelievable to me. Totally unacceptable too, to my mind. But there was no getting around it. And even now, it is better but I still can't think of Karma cat without breaking down. Love never dies...
