This Saturday, the tenth annual and last Doxie Day Picnic will be held in Great Falls. Silver has attended all the picnics, Mozie has been to five and Kugs will attend his first and last. It is a day of fun for both the Doxies and their human families. Sil hopes to maintai his totle of best kisser and best beggar. Mozie will line up for the weinner dunk and the doxie dash. Kugs will try his paw at puppy kissing and belly rolling. We hope to raise at least $2,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society. It will be a bitter sweet day as Becky and I cannot go on with the event. Hershey will lend his presence as will Ira, Maedy Susan, Scahtzie, Willie, Yankee and the most regal collie ever, The greand Dame Sophie Esther who raised the Doxies to be good citizens and wonderful therapy dogs. Thanks to all who read this post and the support you have shown us over the last several months. meriam, Silver, Mozart and Baby Kuggel

Dear Meriam,

This event sounds so wonderful.
It is a shame that you won't be able to have it from now on.
I don't know why you won't but I do know that the boys will miss it very much as I'm sure all the dogs who have come over the years will.
The end of something so special and worth while is always very sad.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Love and Peace,
AurichWolf

Hi Kathy, Thank you once again or the kind words. The work envolved in pulling the picnic together each year has taken its toll on everyone. Personally, I am just not the same since Hershey died so suddenly and without any warning. Also, Great Falls has supported the picnic for 10 yeas and with the current economy, we all had to cut back. So bitter sweet day. Thank you again for the words of support. Meri and the boyz

Dear Meri and the Boyz,

Just saw this thread and wanted to wish you and the boyz best wishes and good luck at the final Doxie Days picnic.  I am so sorry it is going to end, but I am happy little Kugs will be able to attend.

Have a great day tomorrow and let us know how it all turned out.

Hugs,
Melissa

To all, The Raffle Table raised over two thousand dollars for the American Cancer Society. Our bakset this year went for one hundred dollars. The boyz maintained their titles a best kisser and best beggar at the picnic. Baby Kugs came in first in the funnies and most unusal name. All the Doxies are relaxing and watching TV. Thanks to all at Petloss for supporting us, reading our posts and answering with kind words. Meri, Sil, Moz and Kugs

It sounds like a good day was had by all. I'm sure they all had fun at the Doxie day parade.

I heard that Hershey was putting

together a Doxie Day at the bridge.

He told Spartacus that everyone is welcome and all could march in the

parade.

They just love parades.

Carol
