Hi,
I just lost my once in a "lifetime cat" Tigger" September 3, 2010 who was a sweet, funny cat that thought I was his mother.  I rescued him from my front yard after he was thrown from a truck.  I heard this little "meow" walked over to see what it was and it was a tiny, black kitten whose eyes were still blue.  He immediately crawled up my leg and onto my shoulder under my long hair and always had to be near me.  He slept on my arm every night.  He died September 3, 2010 and I just can't seem to stop crying.  He was only 10 years old and went too soon.
My cat "Fred" just had to be euthanized yesterday because of cancer.  He was my "forever friend" and I miss him terribly.  He was given to me by my son 15 years ago and was named "King Frederick the Great of Prussia" by my son  due to his superior attitude  to all humans.  We always just called him "Fred". He loved me and would sit by me wherever I went.  If I didn't pay enough attention to him he would reach out his paw with the claws out just to let me know he was there and should be petted.  The double loss of these two wonderful cats is just heartbreaking and I just can't stop crying.
I just buried "Fred" and hour ago by "Tigger"next to  their outdoor cat enclosure and a large plant of catnip.
My other 3 cats, "Snoopy", Roscoe" and "Spot" are very depressed and searching in all their favorite spots for "Tigger" and "Fred"
Does anyone have any coping methods for me and my other cats?
Thanks,
Bonnie

Bonnie ~ I am so sorry for the loss of your two precious cats, Fred and Tigger.  Losing two in a short amount of time is very painful.  It is hard on everyone in the family, including other pets.  Coming to this site is very helpful to many.  Talking about your feelings to others who are experiencing the same pain is therapeutic.  We all love our babies to pieces and miss them with every beat of our heart.  I will keep you and your babies in my prayers.

My heart goes out to you during this time.  The loss of 2 in such a short period of time is very sad.  It sounds like they had a wonderful life with you and for that the memories will give you a sense of peace in the near future.
Keep posting to this site...tell us more about Tigger and Fred, they sound very interesting.  I found this site to be a God send to me after losing my dog of 15 years.  Everyone here understands and there's always a sympathetic ear and alot of advice.
Love love love is what will help you and your other furbabies get through this.   I found writing a tribute also helped...it took me a couple weeks but then I sat down and cried and cried and then the memories overtook me and a smile started coming to my face...then I cried some more.

I will be waiting for other posts to see how y'all are doing.

I am so sorry for your loss.  About 2 years ago, I lost two of my precious cats within a month and 1/2 of each other, so my heart goes out to you.  I know how terribly hard it is to be suffering from one loss and then have another.

I just lost my 5 year old cat to heart disease.  He kept up the fight for a long time, and defied how long he was supposed to live.  Such a fighter!  It still doesn't make it any easier, though.  We are never ready for them to go, even if we know they have been sick.   My other cats are grieving, too.  I am just trying to give them lots of attention, and they are helping me with my grief, and I am helping them.

Bonnie, My heart goes out to you in the loss of your two precious cats. I think coming here is the first step to do to help you cope. Talk about your grief, and share about their lives. Coming here helped me feel like I kept my boy's memory alive through these people, and they all shared in his life with me.

Take it one day at a time, and sometimes one minute at a time. Allow yourself to feel the emotions that come up. Don't stuff them. It's all a natural part of grieving. Take care of yourself as you grieve.

Hugs of comfort,
Lori
