Two days ago was a terrible day. My indoor cat had gotten outside, which she sometimes liked to explore briefly outdoors but always ran to the front door anytime we opened it. Well this time she didn’t, I had to take my daughter to school so I left, not thinking that my cat could have been up underneath the motor of my car.... on my way back from dropping off my daughter from school, I saw my cat laying in the middle of a round about, several miles from my house, completely smashed 😭 I couldn’t even think or breath, but I knew it was her. My heart is shattered. She had fallen out of my car and I’m assuming myself or the car behind ran over her. I can’t believe this has happened. My daughter loved that cat more than anything, she was a great kitty. She keeps calling for her and looking for her. I can’t shake this awful feeling of sadness and guilt that I caused the death of our beloved kitty. I can’t sleep, I can’t think of much anything else. She was the sweetest cat I’ve ever met, so playful and lovable and I am so devastated. I couldn’t even take her body home because it was scattered all over the busy roundabout and cars kept running over her 😭😭😭😭 I will never be able to forgive myself.

dear hollmay,
my god I am so sorry for your loss, I cannot imagine how you must feel right now. Just know that your kitty would never hold this against you, you didn't know and you didn't/t do this on purpose! This is a tragic, trait accident, and such things are completely devastating, but it is NOT your fault, it really is not.
I hope you know this in your heart, your cat would tell you the same if she could. just grieve for her, but know that it is just her body that was shattered, not her soul, her soul is in a good place now, and she is protecting you and with you.
sending you strength and hugs,
