we adopted her 5 yrs ago at 3yrs old..she is all we have, no kids or other animals...she has always been healthy,,,now three days ago doesn't want to eat or play..
rushed her to the hospital she has IMHA and also her liver is damaged and numbers off the chart,,,
They are giving her a transfusion today but still cant find the cause of the liver issue...
She is very sick and im afraid we are going to lose her...
Im a man 60 yrs old and have been thru many pets but this one hits me so hard, she is my shadow,,,the last thing I see at night and first thing in the morning....
This is killing me, they say she still could pull thru this but day by day its looking much less likely...when do I know when its time or not time...
Her Dr said lets see wht her liver numbers are tomorrow and IF they are responding and no getting worse we continue with the iv meds and hope...
If not a liver biopsy which has huge risk too....this really sucks !

I am sending my prayers to you and your baby. Tonight when I go out to talk to Termy's star I will ask him to keep you and your baby in his and God's hands that she gets better and that you can have many more years together. This is very sad that you have to worry so much. I am hoping and praying that your baby gets better. We love them so much and when they get sick it's so very hard. I am sure she knows the depth of your love. Please keep us posted. Everyone here will be thinking of you and sending love and support to you and your baby.
Love and doggie hugs

I am so sorry to hear of your baby's illness. They really are our shadows, that's a comforting way of putting it. Will be praying for good news for you. My kitty had bloodwork done today because of a drop in weight so I truly understand how you feel.

Well we had to put Loba down tonight, she couldnt fight anymore, She had IMHA and also some type of liver infection.
4 days in ICU and I really think they did everything they could to save her. We saw her at noon and got to spend some time with her,,
She was sick and it was hard for her to breathe but she knew us and perked her ears up when I would speak to her...3 hrs later I got the call she was in distress and would make it.
We rushed down in time to say goodbye,,,,this... house is so cold and quiet and lonesome its terrible.
...I cant believe we only had her 5 yrs, we adopted her at 3 yrs old...She was our only "kid"...we did everthing with her..
She lived here like a king...life will never be the same, she can never be replaced, I cant even ever imagine having another dog....
I cant go thru this again...this happened so fast,,,Friday night she was perfect, Saturday morning she couldnt/ wouldnt eat...
4 days later she is gone...
Do yourself a favor, check your dogs gums, if they look pale DEMAND a full CBC blood workup...this thing moves fast...
 ..goodbye !

I am so very sorry! You and the staff at the veterinary hospital did everything possible for your little girl. I am glad you got to spend a few minutes with her before her passing. Having spent several hundred dollars in the past two days for testing and medicine for my Nugget, I agree with you whole heartedly. If anyone sees anything "off" in their pet's behaviour seek help immediately. I will keep you in my prayers, God bless you.

Hello Luberhill....
Absolutely heart wrenching to read about Loba and the stresses involved prior to her demise. Comforting to know that the care she received was *superior*. Know that Loba knew she was loved to the endth degree. Yes, so young to lose, beyond comprehension. She is at Peace and her Spirit has risen. Memories are all we have, do cherish. When they go, a piece of Our Heart goes with them, joined in Spirit. My Heart goes out to You at this time. We on this Forum have all suffered beyond words at the loss of Our beloved pets. They know live on Our Hearts. Peace to You this day.                                                                                                                       Sherry/perryx

I can relate to your feelings completely. I'm 75 and just lost my beloved Cooper on the 19th of January this year. I am so heartbroken, it is hard to function in life. I had him for just six years.
I am so sorry for your loss,
David

Luberhill,
I am so very sorry that Loba couldn't fight anymore and left to join others at the Bridge. I did pray for you and your dear Loba but I guess it was her time. Know that she is safe and loved in God's arms. This is where she will wait until you are reunited again. You did all that could be done for her, God bless you for loving her. I wish there was something that could be said to take away your pain but sadly there isn't any words that helped me or I would share them with you. I fully understand about the loneliness and the house being empty. It will take awhile but please know the pain will lessen but the memories and the love you shared will never lessen. In time you may want to share your heart with another who will never replace Loba but will find a spot in your heart and create a different journey for you to take. I always said I would never go through the hurt but I love the unconditional love that only having another Fur Baby to share my life with. Grieve and cry for her as I do for Termy and hold her memories tight for that is all we have.
Love and doggie hugs
