My beautiful bunny weezy died today, with no warning. I am away and my husband was with him when he had a seizure and passed almost instantly. I can’t stop replaying the phone call “somethings happened to weezy” as my husband ran to the vet with him but it was too late. I wish I had been there to hold him, I keep thinking maybe if I was home i would have been able to do something sooner before it got so bad. He didn’t show any signs of being sick it doesn’t make sense. I am broken, he was my everything, he helped me through so much and as a single House bunny we bonded so deeply. I don’t know how my life will be without him and I feel like no one understands how bad it is. He was only three and we should have had so much more time.

I’m so sorry to hear the loss of your Weezy, what a cute name.

I understand how you feel regarding the suddenness and shock of your baby. The same happened almost 4 weeks ago with my special cat Raisin. He was only 4 with absolutely no signs of ill health.

Unfortunately so many people don’t understand the love and bond we have with our fur babies but everyone on this forum does, so just write here if it helps. It’s so natural to feel like you do and I wish I could take the pain away, but it’s so raw for you right now, just try to live minute by minute, that’s the only way to get through in these early days.

By what you say, I very much doubt you would’ve been able to save him by being there especially as it was so sudden. Our little ones seem to have a habit of passing when we are not with them, maybe that’s how they prefer it.

I hope I make some sense, please look after yourself as you need extra care at the moment.

Vicky xx

Thank you for your kind words Vicky and I’m so sorry to hear about Raisin. When it is so sudden you are left so empty and it’s hard to feel like you didn’t get to say goodbye. I’m scared of how I will feel later as I will get home after a 4 day trip seeing family, I’m scared to walk into my home and know it is a little more empty now, to see his toys and know he won’t come running up to say hello.

Thank you again for your kind words and understanding.

I am sooo sorry and I completly know what your going through. I cry everytime I go home and know I wont see my lop. She made me laugh everyday. She snuggled me when ever I needed it and the world is so much darker without her. I am so sorry you had to lose your bunny too early as well. It hurts so much and you feel like you did something wrong.
