Hi Roo
I’m so sorry for your tragic loss. Guilt and pain seem to come hand and hand when we love our beloved pets whatever the circumstances. This was a tragic accident that you did not know would happen and should not blame yourself in any way. I know it’s a cliche but time does help and there’s comfort to be found from the understanding people on this forum who are also going through their own losses. I’m 3.5 weeks into the loss of my little companion who made my life so happy, I miss her so much and I have a lot of guilt but time is helping. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

This is such a difficult time for you. The painful emotions and thoughts you are having are flooding you and you are overwhelmed. This can last a while but eventually the intensity will begin to lessen. Some people talk to their doctor when they are this overwhelmed (I did) and see if he or she has some ideas for medical intervention.  This difficult time is not going to last forever.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I can tell you are devastated.
