Well we did it...here she is.... LOLA.....she was born at the end of April (maybe the very same day Shadow left, which seems so bitter sweet to me.)

So much for guarding my heart or keeping my distance....I fell in love with her the second I saw her.
I guess I just have to try to trust in ..what must be will be. I will try to remember that though one day she will have to go too, till then I will love her to pieces and try to make her life as full of love and fun as I possibly can.

She is a collie/shep mix and so completely sweet and gentle....I've never had such a kind and gentle puppy. Of course I've only really had the bullies and gladiator breeds.

Here is her first picture at home with us.... my 12 yr old daughter Carli is holding her.

Please everyone wish her a long, happy, healthy life...
LONG LIVE LOLA THE SWEET :o)

Lola is SO cute, like a little teddy bear!  Congratulations!  And I do wish her a long, healthy and happy life - she is a lucky girl to have found a loving family.  I'm very happy for you, Shadow's Mama - you have a lot of love to give, grown with your Beloved Shadow, and paid forward.  I'm glad you took the leap! :)

Hugs,
Katharine, Grunt's Mom Forever

I said exactly the same thing.....she even feels like a stuffed animal or a sheep....I've never had a doggie with hair like that.... & she's amazing calm too...if she's like this when she's little, she'll have the energy of a basset hound when she's big...that suits me just fine :o) :o) :o)

Oh, sweet Lola, you're simply precious!!!  Congrats on your new fur baby.  We just adopted too, so I know how you feel.  It's so scary, but yet something you feel is needed in your life.  I'm so happy for you!!

She's the funniest thing....
I can tell when she's sleepy, she rolls on her back on her pink blanket and tries to bite it...then she get up and roots around and pulls her blanket till it is "acceptable" to her...then she goes to sleep or nibbles a toy till she goes to sleep...she fights her sleep sometimes, just like a baby...
When my good old dog Ava (8 yr old pit/boxer mix) plays with her...Ava will roll Ruby over and Ruby just keeps rolling herself over and over again across the floor....hilarious!...she loves Ava, and Ava would never admit it but she thinks Ruby is fun :o)
She had her first bath today....she tried to jump out a few...then she just relaxed and put her head across my arm....she's now even fluffier and softer than before.
When she gets scared of something on a walk...(roller blading kids, a barking dog behind a fence etc...) we don't run away.... we investigate. That way she doesn't grow up to be fearful.
She loves people especially little kids....thank goodness
When we walked down by the water fall/spill way at the lake...she seemed a little over whelmed....so I picked her up and she totally relaxed...I think she trusts me.
She didn't GO in her crate last night...I take that as a very good sign even though she pees on the carpet every 30 minutes if we don't get her out in time....that is our fault...not hers.
She had hiccups twice...scared me till i googled it and found out it was totally normal:o)....she wants her belly rubbed when she has then.
And it's only day three imagine how many more wonderful things she'll do tomorrow...I can't wait to find out.
She sleeping across my feet right now. I love Ruby!
