It started on Sunday, we had four ferrets snoop 7 nearly 8 and belle nearly 9 and two of their kits tilly and titch 5.
Belle didnt look well so we thought it was the cold and brought her in the house with Snoop. They have never been separated. Monday morning my partner shouted me, i thought belle had passed, but it was my old gentleman snoop. I was deversated and we placed belle back with the kits so she wasnt alone.
That evening i checked on her and she was not well, we went the vets and she was dehydrated, and they said she had a lump near her anus and a serious chest infection. She stayed over night and tuesday we made the hard decision to let her go. We didnt think she was that ill on Sunday?
We took her home and buried her with snoop.
I dont understand why snoopy died, he was well, no lumps and playful. The vet thinks belle gave up because he passed and i made the right choice, but its hit me so hard. We had them 8 years and i think people think "their just ferrets" it doesnt matter

Hello Foxy,   Saddened by your loss and grief of Ferret. I DO* believe, the animals SPIRIT rises and to other animals present, the odour of informs the pack left behind that one of them is no more. I firmly believe that.
Another instance is the following...Two dogs sharing the same bed in same bedroom, one passes(the spirit rises) and the pet left behind would NOT* return to that bed or ENTER THE BEDROOM EVER AGAIN... FACTUAL. INSTINCT TELLS THEM IN THEIR OWN WAY, SOMETHING IS DIFFERENT. I NEVER* underestimate the intelligence of an animal and yes, even a ferret.
Peace be with you,SHERRYxxPerryxx.

Thank you Sherry, my dog fenn goes over to where they are buried and just stands over them. The little ones keep coming for cuddles, which they never did before.
