My 7 year old cat died today. He was in the dryer and my 12 year old daughter started it not knowing before she went out with friends. he was a great cat and always by my side. Every time i went to the fridge he would meow till i gave him lunch meat. He always greeted at the door like a dog and slept in my bed each night. anytime i laid somewhere hed be around. I was never a big cat person but i fell in love with this cat he sit in the garage with and watch birds and storms on my lap. i reached over to pet him where he normally would be about 100 times today. my daughter was devastated and I convinced her i did to spare her that pain. he was such a great boy and im so hurt this happened . I have ever sen him in the dryer once in 7 years . I just cant believe this happened

It was a tragic accident. Many cats are attracted to the dryer. So believe it or not, it is understandable to me that this could have happened.

Accidents happen in life. People back out of their driveways and run over their child whom they didn't see.

But the pain and the agony of the trauma of it all is very real.

Your cat sounds like he was very special. And you developed a very close bond with him.

It's going to take a while for all of this to sink in.

In the meantime, please know that you can come here and talk about what is happening inside of you any time.

Sincerely,
Stephanie

I am very sorry for your loss. I know this is something you never saw coming.
