Well I know it's a tough time for those who have lost their beloved pets. The memories will come regardless of any attempt to subvert them, but I say let those Christmas memories come and focus and cherish all you have on the positive ones. My Rockie(Tymneh African Grey Parrot) and I had 35 Christmases together the last one was on Dec.25 2015. Anyway I won't let the loss of my Rockie dampen my Christmas Spirit in any way as I'm sure Rockie would want me to be cheerful and happy.
Here's hoping that all here can somehow manage to enjoy a very Merry Christmas and the HAPPY MEMORIES of Christmases past spent with their beloved pets that are spending their Christmas at the RAINBOW BRIDGE CHRISTMAS PARTY.
From Kerry and Rockie.

Thank you for putting up such a thoughtful and caring post. I lost my beloved Big Baby Baron last December so Christmastime is especially painful and you are right--since I cannot subvert the memories I will try to focus on the positive ones.
Having my permanent foster is also helping since I am focusing on making every day for him the happiest possible. This will most likely be the first real Christmas he has ever had and might be his last because of the cancer.
I know that your beloved Rockie would want you to be as cheerful and happy as possible because you gave him the indescribably wonderful gift of 35 years of happiness because he got to be with you--his very best friend and loving daddy all rolled into one. Such a perfect match was not an accident--both of you were a gift from God to the other.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year!

Thank you both for such positive and warming messages. I lost my Cosmo cat on December 5th this year. Cosmo used to get new toys for Christmas and shrimps (his favorites) to unwrap. Let me tell you he was fast and very good at unwrapping his gift. It was always so funny and sweet to see him enjoy the shrimps.
Warm thoughts to all of you and our fur, feather, and all babies we greatly miss and love forever.
Cosmo je t’aimerai toujours la nuit comme le jour et tant que je vivrais tu seras mon bébé à quatre pattes.

wise words to remember during this season of memories old and new. It is easy to get caught in the pain of our losses. My Queen, my beautiful, sweet, lab shepherd mix, went ahead dec. 19th 0f 2015. Hard to believe it's been 2 years now after 14 years together. Her journey made way for another homeless street dog. The circle of love continues on. New memories mix with the old familiar ones and make our hearts full. My heart and prayers go out to those suffering losses this holiday season. Merry Christmas

Thank you for this post. I wanted to come on here to take a moment and to wish everyone great healing this holiday and new year to come. I miss my furry family terribly today as this is our first without them both and one of those favorite moments I've always looked forward to over the last 15 years. They were such a joy and vital part of my life.
To healing. Love to all on this day and the rest of the days before and after. Big, tight Hugs
