I had a beautiful 2 years old persian cat, Ashley. We had shifted to a new apartment 8 months back and it was on the sixth floor of a high rise building. I had put protective grills everywhere and I always feared the worse. Ashley loved me a lot. He trusted me with everything. He was pure white like snow. Playful and gave love to all my children. On 18 December 2019, I was alone at home and had to leave somewhere. I was packing when the building security came and said my cat had fallen down. I could not believe but I saw one window opened. O ran down and saw him alive. I praised God but then I saw blood in his mouth. I took him to a vet immediately. In x-ray, it was seen his heart was out of place and lungs were bleeding. Doctor said his case is critical. Ashley dies 1 hour later. I am now filled with remorse and guilt. If only I had closed the window, he wouldn't had jumped. If only I had come out to check on him, I could have saved him. But he is no more and I am crying since then. I buried him in a field and I want to be next to him. I cannot let go and bring a closure to this. I am blaming myself every time and now I am worried for my children. I don't want to fall in depression but Ashley has left behind a huge void. Please people help me with this loss with some kind words or your experiences with similar tragedy. I really loved my Ashley. I want him back.

I am so sorry for this kind of loss.  You must be devastated to say the least. I don't know what to say to alleviate your feelings except to express how very sorry I am.  There are pet loss counselors that help with this kind of experience that may help.  I know our local humane society has them and so do some specialty pet hospitals.
