Yesterday morning (which also happened to be my birthday) at 8 am, my cat Calvin snuck out and got hit by a car. I have never felt so terrible and hopeless in my life. He was like a son to me and he helped me grow up. He was only 4, and had such a long life ahead of him and I am so so sad over this. Everyone knew how much I loved him and how I loved talking about him whenever I got the chance. I just wanna see him sitting at the top of the steps waiting for me when I got home, and I wanna see his little belly jiggle when he runs. Not only am I mourning him, but my 2 year old cat Weems is too. He was his little play mate and was like the protective older brother. I feel so terrible because he doesn't have his buddy anymore and he'll have to roam the house alone from now on. I don't know what to do.

I am very sorry for this crisis. When something like this happens, it is a crisis. I don't care what anyone says. When my dog Tum died, my cat Emerald was in severe grief. I bought some stuff that you plug it into the wall and it has a phenome that relaxes cats. It did help for sure. But of course no one thing is a cure all. I do not mean it that way. But it helped a great day.

As this just happened, it is going to take a while for things to sink in. Right now you are in terrible shock and so the numbness is still there along with a sense of disbelief.

Make sure you do things to keep your body strong such as drink lots of water and only eat nutritious food. I know that sounds ridiculous to be saying but your body is going to hold you up and get your through this rough start to your very sad and heartbreaking news.

I am so very sorry for you and Weems who is also grieving.

Sincerely,
Stephanie
