I had to put my 16 year female yorkie to sleep on Friday and I can barely breath!  The pain is so intense.  She had kidney failure, she had cataracts in both eyes and was starting to not hear so well.  How did it happen so fast!!!  I know I did the right thing but why do I feel such guilt?  I spent all my money and did everthing I could for her.  She stopped eating and lost her zest for life.  The last few days were spent just sleeping but she was beside me.  I don't know why I struggle with guilt????  I haven't been able to sleep at home yet....Can someone tell why I don't feel I did the best for her??

So sorry for the loss of your beloved Mocha. I know you loved her dearly and did everything you could. I don't know why pet moms and dads feel guilt when this is the case, but I have heard that the guilt still comes. Despite doing all you could.

I know it is so profoundly painful -- Truly sorry for the loss of your Mocha.

Although I haven't lost my one and only dog yet, I am dealing with such a profound pain at the thought... my beloved dog Arby was diagnosed with late-stage kidney disease in December.

Oh, the dread I feel for when he goes. Worried how I will handle his death. Worried how I will handle things if I am faced with the euthanasia decision. Don't want to do too early, or too late. Can I trust myself to know ?

Hope he could have a peaceful, gentle, natural death.

Hi Pawprince....Kidney disease is what my Mocha girl had.  I tried everything!  What have you been doing to keep him with you??? It seems after I found out everything happened so fast.  Maybe it was because of Mocha's age that it happened so fast??

Hi Dawn,

I agree maybe things happened faster because of Moccasin age. My Arby ijust turned 12in April. He was diagnosed in December of 201u. We tried Aminavast (but now he won't eat that, not even in pill pockets)), I use prebiotic for dogs, aluminum hydroxide at first and now not as much, and we do subQ fluids three times per week. If I didn't have the financial support of my husband, I don't think this is something I could afford to do, unfortunately.

I'm just beside myself worried, grieving-- we had a very difficult year last year ... Husband with some job losses and lying and arguing... my Arby was right by my side through it all, of course :)
