I had my beautiful bischon frise bailey for 12 years.... I had him from 12 weeks old.. he was the most loving and loyal dog. He was with me though all the good and bad times of my life with unconditional love and affection. This Saturday 13th October I had to make the awful descion t9 put him to sleep.... he couldn't pass urine and had lost weight, the vet confirmed prostate cancer with wide spread into his other major organs. He went to sleep at 8pm on Saturday. I dont know how to go on, I crnt leave my house cos I crnt bare the thought of coming bk to him not being here. He was my best friend and I'm absolutely heartbroken and devastated. I just want to remember the good times but i crnt get Saturday out of my head

This is a most difficult time, to say the least. And the thing is, there is no easy way out of it. If there was, we would all have done it. I could not believe when Tum died. I too had her put to sleep and afterwards was aghast and shocked at what I had done. I could not believe what I had done and was freaking out. It was horrible. She died in 2013 and I am still coming to terms with her death. I would highly recommend you use the pet loss hotlines. They are all free and you can call as often as you want and as many of them as you want. I used them daily for a while and sometimes more than one a day. I desperately needed to make contact with someone who could listen and understand. The feeling of isolation was too much to bear. That was the worst part. You can write to me here if you want. I am so sorry for your loss. It is the most worst thing in the world. Hard to fathom or even think about. You feel desperate. I get that. Sincerely, Stephanie ps I am so sorry.

Thank you so much its comforting to think other people feel the same. I've had to rake time off work and I am feeling guilty about that, but i crnt face people asking me about my boy. I have to collect his ashes on Saturday and I can barely breath thinking about it
