Glad I found this place.  My dear darling Mishka, my little tabby cat, who was 16 went to hopefully a peaceful place in the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday. She hadn't been very well for a while. and was very skinny but I hadn't realised just how sick and frail she was.
On her last 2 nights she greeted me in the carport out the front which she hadn't for many months.
When I got up on Thursday she was distressed, collapsed in her litter tray and could hardly walk and her breathing was slow and noisy.
Less than 2 hours after I got up she was gone. Luckily I got to say goodbye and have a last cuddle at home before handing her over to the lovely vet nurse who I knew, who promised to give her lots of cuddles. I couldn't stay with her while she went to sleep, and yes there is some guilt about this.

I can't believe the tears and sadness still. She was my baby and my best friend in lots of ways (didn't have any kids) and has been my only housemate for all her life.
I miss her dearly and the house seems so empty. Noone to greet me in the morning or at night when I come home. No one to cuddle or patt or enjoy her beautiful purr and sitting on my lap.
May she be at peace. I will hold her in my heart for ever.

My heart goes out to others who have lost their beautiful fur babies too. I will be holding my own candle ceremony tonight.

Gail ~ I am very sorry your dear companion, Mishka, has passed on.  As our pets age and start to slow down we know what is down the road, but we hope for any extra time the Lord will allow.  You were blessed with many years with Mishka and so many sweet memories.  Adjusting to the too quiet home is very difficult.  All the daily rituals are gone.  My heart goes out to you as you mourn the loss of your little one.

(((((((Gail & Mishka)))))))))  you are in thoughts and prayers.  You were a very good mommy to have your sweet Mishka for 16 yrs.  It will be hard to get used to the quietness, and it will take time.  My heart pains with you at this time.  I am so happy that you had your chance to say you last good byes and the cuddle too.  Take care my friend, you are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry. Your sweet baby is most definitely at Rainbow Bridge. I know how heartbroken you are feeling right now, I lost my two furry kids this last year. My 17 year old cat on October 17th, 2009 and my 15 year old dog on May 15th, 2010. The pain was brutal and even a year later not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about them..it's been very hard, but I promise that things do get better in time and all you can do is allow yourself to feel everything that you are feeling. Grieving is an emotional roller coaster and this website will really help you, the people are wonderful! Take care.

Thanks Moonlight. I really appreciate your caring message. At least after a week, I'm not crying so much and can go out in public although am really glad I don;t have to go to a day job every day right now.

My mum elderly mum is sick too in another city so its been a tough week.

Once again thanks for your comforting words and might thoughts go to you and your fur-babies.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet and precious cat.

She is truly at rest and at peace at the RainBow Bridge. She is no longer in pain or suffering.

We lost our Beagle, Bonnie Lou this past June.  I could not be with her when she took her last breath and I suffer guilt over that.  But they do know we love them and were doing the best thing for them.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
