On april 19, my 15.5 maltese drowned in my pool. The guilt is overwhelming. I had him since he was a baby. What a horrible passing. I cant even function.. it was horrible.!

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I understand your feelings of guilt but please try and be kind to yourself. Accidents happen to all of us and we are broken hearted but I am sure your little one felt cherished and cared for during his life with you. Their love is unconditional. How wonderful this world would be if all humans were like that.

So very sorry for your terrible loss. Its the price we pay for loving them soo much. Our babies are a part of our live and giving them up leaves a big hole that nothing can fill.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my 15 year old Maltese in my pool a month ago and am still reeling from the guilt. What brings me comfort is that I know I was always trying to protect him as best as possible. The day he died I had put more barriers to protect him but he breached it and obviously it backfired. Please be kind to yourself. We would never hurt our little ones deliberately. This was a tragic accident, something completely beyond our control. All events leading up to it were normal but something unsuspecting went awry. Try to remember the wonderful memories of 15 years. They know they were loved beyond loving. After a month, it’s getting better. I’ll never get over the grief, just learning to accept it better.
