Earlier this year I lost my 17 year old Min Pin, Kito, and was broken up over her for a long time. I made the decision in December to rehome an adult Shiba Inu and welcome another dog into my life.

Yesterday she jumped the fence in my mom's yard and ran away. I had her less than two weeks. I can't believe I lost my little friend so quickly. I feel like a terrible person for getting her at all. She could've gone to a family that didn't lose her. I knew Shibas were escape artists and tried hard to secure her but I never dreamed she'd vault over the fence like that. It was a very tall fence with a long drop (it didn't seem to injure her though, she ran right off).

People have spotted her but she runs when approached. I hope someone will catch her but I get the feeling I'll have another dog over the bridge soon :(

She was the sweetest little thing. Everyone who met her adored her. I'm sorry, my poor Roxxy, I wish I could have done better for you. I've been so lonely without a dog in my life but if Roxxy doesn't come home I don't think I'll ever have another.

I am so sorry that Roxxy ran away. It wasn't your fault you did all you could to try and make her safe. Sometimes we can't explain what our babies are thinking. I had a similar experience also with a dog I adopted. I had her for only one week and she slipped out the door and was off. I ran after her calling her name but she was frightened and I wasn't sure the name the Humane Society gave her was really her name. Lucky for me I trapped her between houses and caught her. Ever since I have been over protective and still fear her getting out. Please try to think positively that someone will be able to catch her and return her to you. Keep the faith. Please keep us posted on the out come. Sending you my support and understanding.

this goes without saying but have you done what you can to find your dog. if you google 'how to find a lost dog' it has a ton of ideas. (in this case lost is the same as ran away.)

i hope this helps.
