My little 9 year old Gabby crossed over to Rainbow Bridge this morning.  About a month ago she started having trouble walking but 3 weeks ago she wasn't able to use her back legs.  And over the last several weeks, I would carry her outside and bring her back in.  And her quality of life wasn't there anymore.  She stopped eating and drinking hardly anything.  We did try acupuncture.  She had 1 session and was supposed to go back today for her second session.  But, every time I picked her up or moved her she moaned in pain.  I made the horrible decision to let her go.  I rescued her almost 4 years ago.
I miss her terribly but truly believe we'll see each other again.

I am sorry to hear about your loss of Gabby.  It hurts so much to let them go but they trust us to make that hard decision.  It breaks our hearts but it eases their pain.  I believe they are watching us and they know we will be with them again.

Thank you JoAnn.  I, too, have many little ones at Rainbow Bridge.  My other rescued bichon Benji has been such a great help to me.  He follows me everywhere and we go for more walks than before.  I got Gabby's ashes back yesterday, so she's home for good.
